    Shared Estate Concerns and Suggestions

I've looked around for any posts similar and haven't found anything regarding the shared estate issues. If this belongs somewhere else please let me know.

To start with some background, I shared a medium house with another player. I was not the owner but i was granted access to everything. Other player cut ties and barred me from retrieving items and GM's wouldn't get involved despite proof of the agreement and falling under their guidelines in their ToS for griefing/harassment. Not only did i end up loosing unattainable items, i also lost all of the time spent gathering and crafting, money, and time to design and decorate the estate.

    Suggestioins:
    1) I highly suggest that their terms be expanded to allow assistance for players who experience theft like i did or other circumstances where a mutual agreement was broken and resulted in undue stress and grief.

2)I also would like a system (if there is not already one in place) where items in the housing inventory and placed in the house have tags attached identifying who contributed and placed said item. This does not need to be available to the player but i believe a mark of ownership would greatly assist in resolving disputes quickly and efficiently. This could also extended into a log that tracks who added the item, who placed it, and who picked it up. Much like gear, how it binds to players with a hash.

I'd like to know other's thoughts and suggestions on this topic and if anyone else has experienced something similar.

The game gives you warnings when you place down furniture. They are not responsible for tracking who owns what either.

Gotta agree with this, disclaimers are shown. It's not up to SE to enforce private agreements.

Tenancy is very much an "at your own risk" situation. GMs can't waste their time arbitrating every little player dispute.

Better to not give another player access to your personal items if you're not willing to risk loss of those items.

Same can happen in real life when relationships sour. Exes sometimes keep (or destroy, or just dump) property of the other party.

The warning for housing in the game can't be missed. If you place something down in somebody else's home means you need to treat it like a gift to them when you place it.

It's not really on a gaming company to settle what is essentially a domestic dispute. Whoever owns the house, owns the item. I'm sorry that in this case the rule didn't fall in your favor, but its really the most logical and clear cut option.

I hate that idea. That would make it impossible to hire decorators to decorate with untradable items. If you don't want your stuff stolen, then don't share an estate with someone you don't trust.
