That you have to BUY books in order to craft ? Not to long ago I found out quite by mistake that basically @ level 50 you CAN'T get GEAR for DOH & DOL unless you have yellow scrips and you can ONLY get THOSE AFTER doing a QUEST in ISHGARD AFTER doing OTHER MSQ ! WHY does it have to be SO HARD ? WHY ARE these things NOT explained to NEW players ? I have NOT found anything about WHAT To do and when to do it. Unless I'm googling the wrong questions!

The level 50 crafter gear is umm "crafted" or you can get your level 50 crafter class gear by going to the guild where you signed up and do the craft quests. Another thing, most gear is better to by from vendor until you hit higher levels And master recipe books aren't super hard to obtain. Learn how to craft collectibles at level 50. There is tons of information how to level a crafter out there. Just have to take the time to research it.

Just progress to level 51 and buy the new gear in Ishgard.

You don't have to buy books to craft. There are hundreds of items you can craft without purchasing the Master recipe books. The Master recipe books are primarily for end game gear and consumables, which become near obsolete (except for glamour purposes) once a new expansion is released.

Scrip is an option for obtaining DoH/DoL end game gear but it's not the only source. You also don't need to buy any books to get scrip (though you need the scrip to buy the books for HW and more recent expansions).

None of this is hard though it is different from some other MMOs that only add crafting/gathering as an meaningless afterthought. Fellow players are your best source of information since we've been through the process and will cut out all the confusing out of date information that you'll sometimes get if you're trying to use Google as a resource.

For now: don't worry too much about buying the books while you're leveling your DoH/DoL jobs. If you don't want to craft your own gear from the standard recipes, you can buy it from vendors or other players. Most of your gear will be made by either LTW or WVR with tools being made by BSM (or CRP for FSH). I've got a new alt I've been leveling myself and had no problem crafting level 51-53 DoH/DoL gear using the mixed level 40-48 gear I already had so lacking the level 50 end game gear is not a problem. If you're struggling to make your own gear, ask other players for tips. It could be you're not understanding something about crafting rotations or you've tried to leapfrog past needed gear upgrades.

Of course you can get gear at level 50! But the crafted level 50 gear are mostly CLASS-SPECIFIC. Thus, it's a total waste of time and gil to acquire those.
Why not just level to lvl 51, and craft the Archaeoskin set yourself instead, which is SHARED among all classes? Totally FREE and INSTANT! I wouldn't bother with any Master Books or Yellow Scrips at all until much later!
