I agree why hold back info from the community, it does make alot of ppl to start assuming, rumoring and over hyping the content due to a simple lack of info then when it comes out it ppl are dissapointed because its not as omg cool! as it was thought to be.. =/I agree with others that I would like information released sooner, like atm it is apparent the devs know what company are going to be if they are going to be released soon. Why not tell the playerbase, give us something to look for, prevent over hype which has outraged parts of the community almost every update. That and the devs can get player feedback before it is even released.
I do not see any real positive of not releasing information to the community as soon as possible at this point, the letter are great but seeing something like "Side Quest", "Grand Company", or "4-8 man dungeons" does not really tell us anything about the content except a very very broad sense of what it will be. Player do not know what to expect so them make stuff up which ends up becoming the expectation of what it will really be or it leads to pointless fear of it being something they think will ruin the game, and then it turns into a real negative.
