That French translation of Fandaniel makes me wonder if his endgame is to destroy everything then have Zodiark completely remake existence after consuming the wayward souls and aether that are left in the aftermath.

Yeah that's kind of the angle I'm leaning towards. Since Zodiarks raison d'être is to save the world and provide salvation. If Fandaniel blows up said world and across Hydaelyn people begin praying for someone to save them I would assume all these hopes and prayers would fuel the big man himself just like it did back in Amaurot.
The "Ryne" voice doesn't sound like her. It's of a different tone and way of speaking. I also just don't see her saying something like that to the WoL.
That voice that people say sounds like Ryne sounds more like Tataru for me. Not that in game that's her speaking but rather her VA is voicing another character.
Pretty sure the young girl voice is going to be one of the three Magus Sisters. They don't have an exact line correlation in any of the FFIV translations, but they did taunt Cecil and Co. with some words before and after their defeat.

"I thought that my invincible power would hold the world captive, leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore
We're talking about the voice at the 2 minute mark? Because that doesn't even sound like the same voice actress, let alone the same character. It's probably just someone new.
I'm sorry to derail but I keep seeing this... Elidibus was not a child, he was a young man, probably around G'raha Tia's (physical) age. The JP word used is 青年 (seinen), which is the term for "young man", as in, young adult man. If he had really been a child during his tenure as Emissary, the correct term would instead be 少年 (shounen).
Is the final sentence before the title drop actually Fandaniel for the FR version? It's slightly different.
In the JP version, you can clearly say those are different voices and since FR version is more than often closer to the JP version...
It sounds closer to the guy standing in front of the garlemald flag in judge armor (around 2:20)
Yeah it's probably not Fandaniel, but it's also not Emet, so who is it?![]()
I would assume he's closer to Alphinaud's age honestly, partially because if he's G'raha's age it feels less noteworthy and partially because it feels like there's a lot of parallels between him and Alphinaud with them both being very staunch idealists who look up to their coworkers, especially the one who goes out and helps other people at their own behest.I'm sorry to derail but I keep seeing this...
