I see, the system is really confusing to me but thanks for the correction. You can't withdraw your bid. So you can't change your mind and bid on another house, you have to wait out the lottery, and if you don't win you then have a set time to get your gil back. The penalty is for people who bid and win and then don't claim the plot within the designated time.

It's likely that the reason why you cannot enter more than one draw at a time is so that wealthy players will not have a significant advantage over other people. If player wealth could dramatically increase your chances at getting a house then that would encourage RMT, like it did in the past with house flipping.

It all depends.
Seeing how a player will only be able to have 1 house per server someone can't try and get yet another one on an alt, reducing the numbers of possible buyers already.
And with the new requirements for a player to actually participate in the lottery means that there won't be any bots flooding the system.
And if you're worried over the number of people anyway.
Remember that there will be several housing districts that will spread out where people put their tickets.
Is the system perfect? No.
But at least it now gives everyone participating an even chance in getting a house, rather then bots spamming and people having to waste time clicking a sign hours at an end.

Just gonna put out there that it's pretty easy to bypass the 1 house per person rule. Unless they decide to fix that, people will still find a way to own multiple in my opinion. It all depends.

Side note this process is exactly how I predicted it to be. All that it is, is camping without the camping. You'll still only be able to do one at a time and still probably have to wait 12+ hours to find out if you got the house. Only this time, you're gonna be fighting against HUNDREDS of players compared to the handful that shows up at placard. You say there are going to be plenty of wards but please consider the number of people actively playing the game trying to fit into 12-14 wards total (since the lottery is only taking over half).
Did this really fix anything tho or just make the process even more luck dependant?

The Several Days waiting time... :-(
You'll spend several day to wait and have a chance of not winning the plot... It'll take more than month for some unlucky people to still get an house if the "several days" is more than a week.

Il est possible de dépassé la limite des 1ooo caractères, il suffit d'éditer son post ~

Oh it's several days? Lol.
How was this better again?

Is it firsts come, first served for the new housing plots that aren't lottery picks?

Apparently, that seems to be the case… that’s if they don’t change it to a lottery system on the fly. They kept talking about how they created a dedicated team that can change the housing zones from lottery to first come first serve and vice versa … as to what would cause them to change it back and forth is what I’m wondering about.
Like if too many people want a house will it change to lottery? Or is it the opposite?
