Stop The MSQ Gate Cash Grab

It's now clear that the MSQ gating of expansions has nothing to do with 'story integrity' and everything to do with pushing 'boosts'.

There is absolutely no reason why someone couldn't CHOOSE to skip old and in good part obsolete content and dive straight into the latest expansion .. there are clearly many way to level a job to the required level .. so SE's locking of content is simply there to coerce new/returning players to pay cash to be able to get into the current content.

Stop it SE, just stop it.

Yeah I'm gonna treat this thread as bait and troll.

OP maybe should play a different game that offers that type of skip.

It's a story-driven game and they want you to do the story. The boost costing money is meant to deter you from getting it, but to still give you the option if you really want it that much.

The content isn't obsolete. People still do it every day in roulettes and if you want to understand what is happening in the story of ShB you absolutely have to know what happened in the content from before.

On top of that you only have to do the msq once. This isn't like most other mmos in which you must start a new character to experience new classes. You can be every class on one character in this game.

    Nice try tho.

Which were introduced to 'incentivise' players to re-do the group content new players are forced to do to progress and without whom newer players were finding it increasingly hard to find groups to do considering the lack of tanks and healers .. roulettes weren't always a 'thing' SE only added them when they saw the wasteland that 2.0's dungeons were becoming months into the game.

Have you played any other MMO?

In those games you CAN reply game's quests to benefit from the XP or grind dungeons to level a new class (bot of course there's little to no content gating if you don't want to reply the story quests, unlike in FF14) .. in FFXIV you don't get the option to re-play quests to level alternate jobs you HAVE to grind dungeons/FATEs/whatever .. and of course the alleged "New Game+" is a pitiful imitation of the idea in that you get no character progress unlike all other games I've played where "New Game+" is a progression system.

Seems SE realised some people WANT to re-play the MSQ but God Forbid those players could actually progress their jobs doing it.

It's almost like those other games let you replay quests to level because... It's a new character....

Leveling in this game is so easy. You can get max level on everything from just daily roulettes in a few months.

    Its not a cash grab.

And the story *is* the content in the new expac. Trials and dungeons flow from it. Raids, too. What MMO lets you just buy the expac and immediately enter dungeons in 5 minutes? They're all content locked somehow.
