December and January is a busy time for retail, and it requires full staff to avoid disruption. Many of us, kept our annual leave days, so we could play and enjoy the Endwalker story at its original release dats, this will now not happen, because of the bad decision to move it into the worst time of year for retail workers. Some like myslef won't be able to enjoy the story until at least February or March now, or to be able to keep up with savage raiding, will have to skip the story entirely, as of this poor new release.

To counter this, and stop you ruining a lot of players fun and the want to enjoy the game and story properly, you need to either honour your original release date, or the release needs to be postponed until at least February or March 2020, so the whole player base can enjoy the story without rushing or skipping, to keep up with endgame progression.

This is one of the worst decisions in SE history along with the making of "The Avengers" game.
It's a decision not really good or bad, the initial delay screwed students like myself as the release was right in the middle of my exams now I can do my exams without worrying about missing launch. So while it sucks for you, its not bad for everyone. Yoshi P was VERY apologetic for having to delay and we know he would not do it lightly. Honestly, you just sound really self involved, delays happen and people taking annual leave to play a game is not SE's fault or responsibilty at the end of the day. You chose your priorities and so did they for the sake of their game. Also, when I worked retail I wasn't even ALLOWED to take leave during Nov-Feb so be glad you even get that chance honestly..

The world does not revolve around you and your schedule, I didn't do savage raiding for a long time thanks to my work days never being set.

The server will burn the first 3 days anyway. We never had a clean start and the stars are currently aligned for a real bad one anyway due to the player influx and SE having not even answered that problem, once the players who return just for EW are here ontop of that its not gonna be easier.

And in response to if we rather have a clean game or Rauhban ex, that was 1 day and you were free to level other things.

HW had a 3 sec delay in coertas, SB had Rauhbahn EX, ShB had random crashes, but you believe those 2 weeks will bring the golden age ... oof
a;sp add to the fact that he wants to flush out the lore a little more. Like hello what have you been doing these months? Instead of making crappy seasonal events that give subpar gifts or bringing back the ff15 car use that time to flush it out. I am hoping I can shift my pto time as well. Plus he is working on ff16 which is also taking his time away.

FOMO is really all I can say.
    But don't worry.
Even if one falls behind at the start there's plenty of time to catch up during the downtimes between content updates.
People are so eager to rush it when something new is released and then get bored and complain when there's nothing to do "so soon" after the release.
Maybe this is a good opportunity to just take it slow for once and enjoy it instead of rushing it.

Levels of FOMO is high in this chat.
It's either FOMO complaints or lack of content complaints when everyone bumrushes everything like it is some kind of Wacky Race episode.

I will defend SE on this: A delay to ensure a smooth launch (especially with the SHARP increase of traffic) is very important.

If you are a WoW veteran, I need not remind you of how players could barely play Warlords of Draenor for over a week. Battle for Azeroth's launch was extremely unstable for around a month or so.

Extra time is unfortunate, but in the end good.

I don't think anyone blames the company for the delay, rather the last minute announcement and people had taken days off for it so there is dissapointment.

Oh, I won't argue that it's disappointing, and I know some folks arranged their time on the timely launch. I'm just saying in the end, it will be a positive more than a negative.

I would.. VERY much appreciate it if SE never had a major release during November/December. It's just added stress to this hell-season..

The game doesn't go anywhere, but the chance to discover it together with all of my very busy friends does.

It's like saying "Don't be upset the music festival got pushed back to a time where you can't go, you still have the CDs. " MMO launches are social events. Barring some miracles, this is going to be an extremely lonely launch for many of us.

It's not FOMO for everyone. Some people were looking forward to relaxing and playing the expansion launch at their own pace without having to deal with big responsibilities like work, and now so many won't be able to because they will have work shifts at launch. Some people were also planning on playing with their loved ones who also took time off for the launch and now they can't because of conflicting schedules. I have some buddies working in retail who will barely be able to play in December because it's the busiest time of the year and they were looking forward to playing some before then. Effectively for them the expansion isn't out until after Xmas.

For so many it's not about feeling left behind, it's plans for a holiday that have now been ruined.

EDIT: not saying SE shouldn't have delayed, just explaining how the situation is for some people.

I mean, it's unfortunate that we weren't notified earlier and as result a lot of us cannot shift our leaves (I can't, for instance) but honestly?

Back in 2020 I was notified about my plane to South Korea being cancelled 1 week before the scheduled leave because of Covid lockdown being issued, and I dare to say that something like this can have far more impact on somebody's life than game's release date, since a lot of people take planes for life&death or business reasons.

Sometimes such force majeure situations happen. It's not something to be happy about obviously but there's nothing what we can do about it anyway, and it's not the end of the world. Voicing out the dissapoitment is okay, but the way some people do it is a bit too much.
