People shouldn't be buying FC houses as private residences or own them as such.
This is an excellent idea. I see so many houses owned by FCs in my FC's ward that are undecorated, empty and owned by 1 person FCs. The one that is directly next to us? We see him log in every once in a blue moon, walk into the house, then logout... its disheartening.

I'm a fan of these changes. It's always seemed unintended or against the spirit of the rules, not to mention incredibly frustrating for new purchasers, for people to be able to relocate at any time before the purchase timer is up. While purchasing a plot simply to be able to relocate and skip the availability timer is currently within the rules, in my opinion I a jerk move. Those people have been lucky enough to actually get a plot; don't ruin it for other people. Again, I know it's legal within the current Rules as Written, but perhaps not within Rules as Intended.

Now everyone is on equivalent footing as far as dealing with the timer, and I see that as a good thing.

No more price decrease come 6.1...interesting. It makes me wonder if the new housing is going to be in 6.1.

Relocation was never against the spirit of the rules of giving players the opportunity of getting a better house. Nothing was being ruined for others as there would still be the same number of plots available, and all but one of those camping would still fail to get the plot (at least the relocator shortened the amount of time they could have been waiting at that plot).

What was against the spirit of the rules was those who abused it solely to reset purchase timers, try to take advantage of the click bots through retainer sales, and the like.

I don't favor removal of the Relocation bypass myself. I think other changes, such as limiting relocation to the first 8 hours of the timer when a plot almost never became available for purchase then increasing the relocation cooldown from 5 minutes to several days would be been better. Then again, now that players don't have the ability to upgrade as soon as a better plot becomes available may reduce overall demand for houses ("if I can't have what I want then I won't get any"). And of course it obstructs resellers who would buy what they could get then hold out to relocate to better plots with a higher resale value.

We still don't have everyone on equal footing when it comes to the purchase timer. There will still be players using the bots to improve their chances. At this point, SE should go all out with lottery only. FCFS wards favor resellers using their third party tools too heavily. Force them to take their chances in the lottery for every plot.

Land Devaluation had been a way to help fill half empty wards by lowering prices enough for players with less gil to be able to afford them. It's now meaningless with demand greatly exceeding supply, plots being purchased before they've devalued more than once and more than enough players having more than enough gil to make the purchase at full price.

It would make no sense to retain Land Devaluation with the lottery since a house would devalue several more times during the lottery period, then the winner would have a fair amount of time to let it devalue further before they would be forced to purchase or forfeit their gil.

We already know that Ishgard is opening in 6.1. YoshiP has told us that several times now. I don't know why you're questioning when it will happen.

People wants the lottery often lack of in-depth thought on the system.
This lottery system is basically going to hurt new players further.
Not every house owners are bothering to relocate to a new plot; however, under this lottery, what is the harm for me to submit a ticket to the plot I want to try?
Instead of compete with few people, people now going to compete with entire server including those already own the house.
I definitely expecting river of tears after 6.1

Disable relocation won't hurt original plot owners and this new system only gives them more incentive to submit 2 tickets (one personal and one FC)
What is your odd now? lol

I also feel like the relocation struggle (seeing someone relocate in front you) wouldn't be as hurtful if the timer wasn't this long-rng mess. I don't see why the timer should be that long tbh, given that there is a prime time regardless.

I agree that the lottery system will be a terrible system but without the ability to trade up for a better plot through relocation I fail to see any value left in the current placard system. I'd rather see the lottery system be universal rather than have placard camping remain in any form. The 24hr hidden timer and bot competition is easily the worst and most sadistic system I've seen in an MMO.

Since we can't get instanced housing and we have to have dead neighborhoods though, we just get one bad decision piled onto the next with XIV's housing.

Get your plots ASAP, before the changes! RIP & good luck.
This really hit on it. And some of us on this forum said this every since it was known but you always have the yes-sayers ignoring that and praise every change.
It also the reason we got the random timer in the first place cause there was some people wanting it and here we are.

    -------------------------

Now to answer the OP and thread,

I think it’s a really bad idea. I understand the need for some changes but this it hurting so many players who want a bigger house or want to move to new area.

There is so many other things they could adjusted and got a similar outcome towards flippers (which I would assume is the biggest reason to fight with this?)

    - Limit relocation to every 90 days and 1 time during that period.
    - Lotto is fine as is, I think it gonna flop in any case and PLL didn't really change my mind on that.
    - Even with the timer, it could just been limited to ranom 1-5 hour instead of 24 hours it is now when it most common to get available first after 8-9 hours.

If I understood this correctly relocation is being nuked from the game so any one dreaming of upgrading or moving to Ishgard (including me) that dream is now shattered. it come to my attention we still can kinda relocate, we just gotta all do the lottery thing so let all players suffer, I guess? Still think it's a really terrible system.

It puts an end to the reselling of plots, which in my book is a win. Ward scanning to snap up larges and mediums that demo, and then sell the relocation to for vast sums is dead in the water. As is relocating FC plots to for the purpose of selling the FC in its entirety for hundreds of millions of gil. Puts everyone on an even playing field.

I agree it a win towards flippers but at what cost?
It wouldn't eliminate it but if you only could relocate once every 90 days that would helped a lot too imo.

I seen no info on this but I'm going to assume it full price since we have to pay up-front when buying the ticket, I doubt SE is that proactive and will refund some when you relocate it, in the event you actually win the lottery...
