Thoughts on Relocation removal

Wondering what everyone else thinks about this. I find it really disheartening and think it's a really bad decision. Strictly speaking the feature isn't removed but this is basically the same thing.

This seems like the end of the concept of housing as a ladder you progress through. The prospect of relocating to an available medium or large is already extremely rare, but it might as well be impossible after this.

At this point they should just make every housing ward use the lottery system. With no prospect of ever getting a medium or large home I think I'll bow out of housing entirely now. Here's to hoping that they'll ever do something with apartment sizes.

I don't see any issue with the changes at all. Buying a random small just because you could take advantage of a loop hole to skip the queue into a "better" small or a bigger plot always felt like an unintended process. And it's not that you can't relocate, you just don't get any special privelege for wanting to do so.

The only issue I see with the system is that they're still not allowing alts to be registered as part owners (or some form of special guest) in a house that you do own.

I think it's a great idea. Puts the relocator's on fair footing with the first time buyers. Yes I already have my house. This is good to see.

I came to post about this. I can't say I'm a fan. My friend and I both own a house but it's not in the area we want. We had planned on relocating to be next to each other in shirogane and the odds of us winning a house next to each other are insane now.

I can understand why they wanted to do it this way but here's hoping they leave a ward or two first come first serve so we can realize our dream.

100% agree on the frustration with the changes to relocation. Hopes for upgrading my house have now nonexistent. I'm that poor soul that has to get 99 totems for all the mounts. I will not win a lottery for an upgrade to a medium or large house, so it's hard to realize I'll have to placard spam for an upgrade against a bunch of botters for any first come first serve wards that exist. I already did my placard spam for MONTHS to get my small house.

Yeah very true. Maybe we can get something before endwalker but no matter what it feels like the dream is dead

I am not sure he stated that upon the intial release of the Empyreum housing district 6.1, that the brand new plots that are first come/first served will be on a timer. Only the plots in the other districts will go on a timer if players relinquish land to move to Empyreum when it launches or a different district. If he did I missed it.

I’m kind of torn…

On one hand, I was hoping to finally get a medium by using the relocation tool…
On the other hand, I get why they went down this route based on the lottery system. If I understood their explanation right, it sounds like at any time they can turn all or partial of housing into the lottery system and I could see how it could make relocation messy. I did like that side balcony they showed.

My only issue is I have a solo FC so am I required to have 3 other people in mines just to relocate? Or is it just for new starter FC’s?
