Bit of a bummer.
Bit of a bummer.
I'm alright moving from Job Quests to Role Quests each expansion. I just hope we don't lose the characters in storylines, it'd be nice if they wove them in and out of MSQ and role quests a bit seamlessly in future. I noticed the ninja storyline got a lot of love in the Zadnor quests, but I'd like to see them actually appear in zones and be interactable, even if it is just a bit of extra bonus dialogue.
I'm hoping Zadnor is the basis of what they do with the job trainers in the future. Have them show up in our quests to help out with them, possibly also in dungeons and MSQ. If we can't have job quests for them any longer, have them play a role in another way.I'm alright moving from Job Quests to Role Quests each expansion. Not surprised at all. They keep adding more and more jobs every expansion which means the workload would increase more and more each time. Resource management is important, I think it's the right decision. We'll still be getting the role quests too, which were rather nicely done in ShB.
I'm kinda gutted over it, totally understand the reasoning behind that decision and I mean, not every job quest was good but the idea behind it was always promising, as we've seen in the dark knight questline or summoner. I had hope that maybe they'd step up their game for jobs that had less than blooming treatments (pld) and write something worthwhile. Idk, I just really liked the whole idea of job quests.
Didn't some job characters show up in some dungeons in the background?

Not really, the lvl 80 quests felt like a conclusion in their stories so i wasnt surprised they would stop making more.
Also im im pretty sure they said theyd be doing Role Quests instead[which i found enjoyable].
Also dev wise we have like 20 classes now, figuring out 20 different scenarios for each is a P.I.T.A.
I can understand why they dont want to make more.
Tho id love to get job titles going forward regardless of job quests existing or not[they could put them in the lvl 90 achievement or something]
I'm part of the minority, but I didn't really care for the role quests; I liked the individualized quests for each job. Obviously I realize why they made the change. 5 role quests is easier and less work than 19 job quests. But I still feel disappointed by the news.
This really sucks. Some job quests were awful some were great and I want to know their next chapter.
