Eh. Role quests work better as not everyone will level every Job to 90 but plenty will have multiple job roles leveled up.

I'm hoping Zadnor is the basis of what they do with the job trainers in the future. Have them show up in our quests to help out with them, possibly also in dungeons and MSQ. If we can't have job quests for them any longer, have them play a role in another way.I'm alright moving from Job Quests to Role Quests each expansion. I just hope we don't lose the characters in storylines, it'd be nice if they wove them in and out of MSQ and role quests a bit seamlessly in future. I noticed the ninja storyline got a lot of love in the Zadnor quests, but I'd like to see them actually appear in zones and be interactable, even if it is just a bit of extra bonus dialogue.
Didn't some job characters show up in some dungeons in the background?
Not really, the lvl 80 quests felt like a conclusion in their stories so i wasnt surprised they would stop making more.
Also im im pretty sure they said theyd be doing Role Quests instead[which i found enjoyable].
Also dev wise we have like 20 classes now, figuring out 20 different scenarios for each is a P.I.T.A.
I can understand why they dont want to make more.
Tho id love to get job titles going forward regardless of job quests existing or not[they could put them in the lvl 90 achievement or something]
I'm part of the minority, but I didn't really care for the role quests; I liked the individualized quests for each job. Obviously I realize why they made the change. 5 role quests is easier and less work than 19 job quests. But I still feel disappointed by the news.
Just another way square has found a way to give us less and less content as time goes on.
Wouldn't be surprised if we didn't even have role quests in another expansion or two.
This really sucks. Some job quests were awful some were great and I want to know their next chapter.
So the job quests for Shadow Bringers I don't remember if it even had the blue marker on it because it didn't actually unlock anything. Part of it was remembering where the lv 70 job quest left off because you'd basically find that NPC in that location. They all were just travel and view cutscenes that I recall and when completed gave you some free materia.I struggle to actually FIND the level 80 job quests.. they are not blue quests? I remember starting the summoner one and not liking having these random pupils appearing.. But I wanted to do the DRK one and couldn't find the freakin thing so..
I rly did enjoy the story quests but I remember being grumpy on some jobs when I had leveled them a lot and found I HAD to do job quests to unlock skills. I liked them taking that away later and making the job quests pure enjoyment and you just unlocked the skill normally as you level. Think jobs could do with some new story lines later down the road but it seems they had a LOT to do for this expac so they didnt want to do them this time. I seen it coming so im sad but not that gutted.
So long as we get job quests for the new jobs that are added, I'm fine with the older jobs being considered 'finished' for now. Many of the job stories were arguably getting very repetitive and stale. I like a fair few of the job quest trainers, but I'd rather see some new characters introduced instead of constantly coming back to the same handful over and over again.
I think role quests are a solid compromise, especially if they expand on some meaningful story elements like in Shadowbringers.
