Not surprising, since 5.0 they cut content everywhere. A few years forward and they will start cutting entire expansions, and people will still praise them as the best game studio.

I liked the Job quests because it felt good to learn skills through a story and I always get excited what would be the next one, Role quests however I never got that invested in it because you don't get nice rewards out of it the story in the Role Quests were... okayish?
I felt more invested in the Job quest characters.
I struggle to actually FIND the level 80 job quests.. they are not blue quests? I remember starting the summoner one and not liking having these random pupils appearing.. But I wanted to do the DRK one and couldn't find the freakin thing so..
I rly did enjoy the story quests but I remember being grumpy on some jobs when I had leveled them a lot and found I HAD to do job quests to unlock skills. I liked them taking that away later and making the job quests pure enjoyment and you just unlocked the skill normally as you level. Think jobs could do with some new story lines later down the road but it seems they had a LOT to do for this expac so they didnt want to do them this time. I seen it coming so im sad but not that gutted.
So the job quests for Shadow Bringers I don't remember if it even had the blue marker on it because it didn't actually unlock anything. Part of it was remembering where the lv 70 job quest left off because you'd basically find that NPC in that location. They all were just travel and view cutscenes that I recall and when completed gave you some free materia.I struggle to actually FIND the level 80 job quests.. they are not blue quests? Looking back at some of the 80 job quests, some of them were nice caps on their stories, but.....
-Paladin was really a Gladiator quest. But then again, so was Stormblood's chain.
-Likewise, White Mage was a Conjurer quest. Again, so was Stormblood.
-Summoner was most about Fordola and Arenvald than it was actually about Summoner. And if you'd kept up with the Tales on the Lodestone, it was redundant.
-Warrior was just dragging out the already-tired gag of Curious Gorge losing control yet again.
-Ninja was kinda funny, but didn't really add much. Just making Oboro the butt of the joke again.
-Dragoon was.....weird. Like a too-late attempt to make Nidhogg sympathetic.
So I'm not particularly sad to see them go.

no level 90 quests is quite the bummer, nevermind the job quests being cut again. A lot of them do have areas they can explore for new techniques (read skills) and lore. Though the cynical part of me is saying this is so the quests don't feel shit when they cut skills later, l ike how ast is missing rewards from most of its quests
and I seem to be the only person missing crafting and gathering quests too.
sure the role quests were decent and we were on another world but like everything in shb that wasnt the msq they felt lackluster
Edit: yes, I get it that it requires more resources. The thing that bugs me is we keep seeing more content cut but nothing that's replacing it. It also doesn't explain why crafter/gatherers quests got the chop as well since we haven't had any new crafter/gatherers.

Paladin was such a bad fanfic though, that they returned to the Gladiator's guild in the end, lol.
YoshiP said in the LL that the WoL is so far above and beyond their old trainers, that writing a story that isn't weird is very difficult, and I agree.
Guy in a shack in the jungle giving missions to god slayer kingmaker world wanderer WoL is awkward, especially when you beat their ass at lvl 30, and now you're 90 and would oneshot them anyway, not only mechanically, but also lore-wise.

Well, we have kind of surpassed most of the job masters.

Not disapointed at all. Whatever helps them focus on delivering great main story content without compromising quality is fine with me.
I hope there's at least a basic questline for Reaper and Sage
