I think it would’ve been cool if each of the role quests could’ve been an ultimate culmination of that set of job’s stories as they gatger to face the Final Days. Oh well.

Yeah I was kind of bummed. I mean I enjoyed the role questline in ShB. But I liked at least having the nod to the Jobs with the little capstone quests.
Not all Job quest lines were great, but we're also missing out on fantastic storylines like the Dark Knight lines.
Small indie company, please understand.
I've done like 800 Job quests, I'm good.

Not going to lie: I am definitely disappointed. As much as some job questlines are maligned (Paladin, Paladin, Warrior, and Paladin), they were always something I looked forward to experiencing. I was hoping that role quests "replacing" them was only going to be a thing in Shadowbringers, and only because having to warp back over to the Source every few levels for your job quests would've been pace breaking. Knowing that role quests are still being considered their replacement in Endwalker is really a letdown for me.
That said, I would laugh if it turned out the entire reason for this was just... Paladin. Like, they were so fed up with writing the Paladin questline that they just scrapped the entire job questline thing.
It's a bummer, but they did say in a early interview, that the job quest npc would be present in Endwalker.

I preferred role quests to job quests, although not sure if EW can make them as meaningful to the character as ShB did.

In a way, I can understand that at this point in the mmos life, the older jobs should really have their questlines tied off at some point. It is definitely a case that in order to be fair, either everyone has to win, or everyone has to lose; and there are just so many jobs now. However, the new jobs should get some love in this regard, and at the very least get a unique questline of their own that explores the lore surrounding the job a bit.
Wouldn't be a bad idea to toss a solo instance at them as well that pushes their skillset a bit. It would make their transition into the new expansion a hell of a lot easier for everyone.

I'm a bit sad but also okay with it. I like roles quests approach - we'll see what they'll give in EW, but in ShB the story told was really good. Most jobs had a solid conclusion in level 80 quest too.Is anyone else disappointed by the confirmation of no new Job Quests in Endwalker? I really enjoyed the unique Questlines for each Job that made me really feel like I was a student of that discipline. Sure, like they said in the Live Letter, some questlines felt like they'd reached a satisfying conclusion, but others felt like they still had more room to be explored. Like Dancer; Endwalker will see us visiting the discipline's homeland of Thavnair, yet there won't be any quest for players of the Job to explore that?
And what does this mean for Reaper and Sage? That we'll just get the Quest to unlock the job and that's it?
The amount of battle jobs pretty much doubled in these 4 expansions, it sounds like an absolute nightmare to create new story for each of them every two years while also keeping in mind the need to think of something else for new jobs, and could affect the MSQ and schedule in long-run perspective. Honestly it was bound to happen at some point. Seems like the time has come.
Talking about about Reaper and Sage - they start as level 70 so going by what we have so far they would have level 70 and level 80 quests. The real question tbh is what will happen with new jobs in 7.0 and onwards.

I really like the job quest system so it was a bit of a letdown to hear that role quests will now completely replace them. Having thought about it more I can agree with some people in this thread that many job quest stories found a satisfying end. I hope there will be atleast some nods to something like the dancer job quest in thavnair, that would be a missed oppurtunity otherwise imo.
I disliked the phys dps and the tank role quests so that also did not make me very confident but the void questline was pretty good so hopefully all the new role quests will be great.
