    My fear of extreme trails.

    Hi y’all
I’m final at the point where I’m unlocked extreme trails. I really want cool weapons or mounts but I’m afraid. I used to play wow and when I tanked or dps I was completely chewed out for making mistakes. I tried to learn how to raid better but I quit raiding. Fast forward and I love warrior, dragoon, and samurai. I love trails and dungeons but when I did my first hard one I was scared but know I love them. I unlocked extreme bird girl and I must ask should I do the extreme trails or skip them. My warrior is 55, my dragoon is 35, and samurai at 54.

You will generally avoid salt as long as you aren't joining farm parties with 0 knowledge of how the fight works. That never goes well for anyone involved. I would suggest joining learning parties or make them yourself so you know what kind of environment you are going to be in. Learning parties are usually super chill. Clear parties are usually less so, but that's because the group was created with the intent to clear, not to just learn. Basically, just read the room and join/form groups that suit your personal needs and you'll be fine. Clearing things synced has been pretty popular recently so you will most likely find like minded individuals eventually. You don't have a lot to worry about here, to be honest.

While I cannot give a specific date on when personal housing will be implemented, I can say that prices will be completely separate from free company housing, and, naturally, far more affordable.

Getting a lv 80 to run the lv 50 trials unsynced is a good way to see how different ex is from normal, although an 80 will make short work of them. Still, you can get a bunch of mounts without stress.

I need to do the quest on extreme. Is it ok to just do the extreme for quest but wait till 80 to grind?

    Difficulty Terms:

    Easiest > Hardest
    Dungeon > Normal Raid > Extreme/Unreal Trials > Savage Raid > Ultimate.

Extreme/Unreal trials are not even remotely close to Savage/Ultimate, every new one introduced gets cleared by top tier raid groups in 1-2 hours tops. Higher Savage floors take far longer to take down 1st week.

I wouldn't worry too much! Honestly, normal and ex are so different that even though I have embarrassing totem counts for the ShB extremes in my bag, I get smacked around like a clown in normal as a consequence. Everyone understands that the endgame fights are about learning the unique dance of every encounter, and even the best of the best need a few tries to understand a new fight.

Just make sure you use Party Finder and not Duty Finder. Duty Finder will plop you in with a group of random individuals (after a que that could last days) and mentors who are more likely to have salt. Setting up a Party Finder with intent to learn will let you curate the exact experience you are looking for. I know on Primal we have plenty of vets who look for those to pop up to help out as well.

You can do all of the previous expansion extremes with the Undersized Party setting. This allows you to recruit in Party Finder for some level 80 help, and they will kill it in seconds.

If you want it to be synced, you can queue for it directly and it will find others who queue for it as well as really experienced players from the mentor roulette, but this can take a long time because NA does not queue for extreme trials except new players unaware of that. This version of it syncs you to twice the item level so most mechanics don't matter and you get The Echo when you die which boosts your health, damage and healing.

If you want to fight it at its hardest you would need to recruit in Party Finder and put "synced minimum item level" in the description, then when you queue them into it you would need to open Duty Finder and set "Minimum IL" and "Silence Echo". This will make it very hard and you may not even successfully clear it before the time runs out. It's very hard to get people to join a party for this because most people like "easy" and will be a lot more likely to join the first one I explained, where a level 80 comes in and kills it in a few hits.

For the newest extreme trial, everyone will be nice if you read the description to know what "phase" they are up to and other rules.
[Practice] means people do not expect to clear and wipes are expected.
[Duty Completion] means people expect you to have got through most of the fight in a practice party and to only wipe a few times but that it should be a clear before the time runs out.
[Duty Complete] does not let you join unless you have completed it before.
[Loot] does not mean a lot and isn't always used.
[Duty Incomplete] usually used on release day, it prevents anyone joining if they already completed it, so you can do a blind run.

Please, go for it whether it be raid or trial. If it's something you love, then you'll have a great time. The tools to seek a party are also pretty user friendly. The Party Finder in this game is very good at letting you find groups that have the primary goal of practising the fight. Practice PF parties (aka learning groups) exist for this reason and these are where you should start. PF parties will usually state its intent (to learn and/or level of knowledge and goal).

Extreme bird girl is pretty easy, especially unsynced at max level. And if you have a group of max level she will be downed pretty quickly.

Most of PF also understand if you state you are new and understand you may die/make mistakes/don't know what to do. WoW is mostly unforgiving in this regard. For the most part, you'll find the complete opposite here because the great thing about XIV is that most everyone understands that we start from somewhere and that chewing someone out is never conducive to the goal.

As someone who has played this game for almost 7 years now, I still literally shake in fear after joining a Savage/Extreme PF. But you'll find people are generally cool and want everyone to succeed.

Also if you are stressed and would just like the rewards someone will probably be happy to help you farm. The horse and bird farms are super easy now and some dogs as well. Most mechanics are non exsistant for some old trials.
