Its funny no one gives a valid reason why.

You really didn't give a valid reason why you like to hit 1111111 ( another random button) 1111111 It gets tiresome and annoying the more times I press the same God dang button! All the changes the people like.. you want to see removed... *shrugs* you are quite the comedian! at least people are entertained by your threads.. I suppose.
So you don't like shooters, rts games, rpg games, any other kid of game that doesn't have auto attack? You really didn't give a valid reason why you like to hit 1111111 ( another random button) 1111111 It gets tiresome and annoying the more times I press the same God dang button! All the changes the people like.. you want to see removed... *shrugs* you are quite the comedian! at least people are entertained by your threads.. I suppose.
Shooter games are ment to be "button mashing games.. because, there is really no way around it... FF in general besides XIII and XIII-2 weren't button mashing, sure you always hit X to confirm.. theres always a confirmation button for every game, but its not like in XIII where you just do this: Attack X6, Fire X6, Water X6, Auto Battle, that's a "true" button mashing game. in older FF's you find what you want to use and then confirm.
Old FFXIV was the whole deal of Attack ( wait for stamina) Attack ( Wait for stamina) attack ( Wait for Stamina) ATTACK!! eventually using a TP move.. the repeating the cycle all over again.. with AA it takes away ALOT of the button mashing, and you only have to hit something when you want to use abilities or WS.
So no we do not want your silly Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack Spam >.>.....
What you don't seem to realize is that the flaw in old XIV was that:Old FFXIV was the whole deal of Attack ( wait for stamina) Attack ( Wait for stamina) attack ( Wait for Stamina) ATTACK!! eventually using a TP move.. the repeating the cycle all over again.. with AA it takes away ALOT of the button mashing, and you only have to hit something when you want to use abilities or WS.
a) Stamina largely ruined the system
b) Even with more abilities to use, the fact everyone was married to the TP system meant everyone was getting hammered into the same system, which has other implications to class balance
c) the abilities that were implemented did not build off each other
Granted, I would have no point of comparison had I not beta tested TOR, which has a pretty functional system despite having no auto-attack. My guess is that stamina was originally implemented to act similarly to weapon delay, but as we all learned, it didn't work.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

I don't think it's that, I just don't think it serves a purpose in an MMORPG or RPG people. Button mashing I didn't mind in MK, SF, Enslaved Oddysey to the West...games like those. However when I pick up an RPG, I do not want button mashing. I play an RPG to enjoy a story and the journey of characters...if I wanted to play a "choot em!" up game, I would.

Ok lets talk rpg games, Skyrim/oblivion/morrowind... guess you hated those as well.I don't think it's that, I just don't think it serves a purpose in an MMORPG or RPG people.
