    High-end small party idea

    When Yoshi-P talked about small party high-end content my thought was doing something with dungeons. I started thinking that maybe they could take the trash out of dungeons and only have you fight the bosses in the dungeon like a gauntlet. All they would need to do it add a couple more mechanics to the bosses and scale them to savage/extreme level difficulty. Mythic plus won't work here but the gauntlets would be perfect for ffxiv. Add rewards based on completion time and have a vender that you can spend the currency. Just wanted to get an idea out there.

    We have almost 100 dungeons and it would have to be really easy to sync it to minimum item level, remove all telegraphs, buff the damage so every mechanic 1 shots if it's not mitigated or avoided, make the auto attacks take 33% of health and put an enrage cast on of their aoe. Almost 100 pieces hard content for almost no work.

    A really good example of the difference in difficulty is Coin Counter in aurum vale. Most people didn't know all of the mechanics, but if they did they could solo it as a DPS without taking any damage. Now everyone can do it because it's telegraphed.

    I would use the new dungeons of endwalker first like how they didn't start ultimates until stormblood and just built off of what they have from the new dungeons onward.

    Completion time would probably end up creating the scenario they want to avoid, which is a strict meta of jobs that can complete the fastest on top of the general animosity that can come from people underperforming to fit the ideal completion time. It's not really a fun metric to fulfill, either.

    I don't inherently think trash should be removed for a boss gauntlet only, though the focus of the difficulty in the dungeons should be from the bosses being reiterated on and not the trash packs. Trash packs between bosses might be able to serve as a good cooldown period from the prior engagement. But, I think that'd be fun so long as completion is the ultimate victory and not mired around with sub-completions that'll railroad the content to center around a handful of the best jobs within a four man environment, instead of letting people go on their favorites of each role. Since, ultimately, the mode should be designed with the idea of fun first and foremost.

    Cosmetic rewards would be about all I'd want to see, it'd be rough if it ended up becoming mandatory pre-raid content to complete to have entry-level BiS for the new raid tier if you plan to do it week 1, especially since some raiders might not be interested and then feel forced/compelled to do content they dislike just to be moderately competitive in content they do like.
