How did you maintain your sanity doing the ARR Beast Tribes without flying?

I did them at-level with various jobs... I think at the time, it was a morning ritual to log on and play a little before work, and I would always do my beast tribes while catching up on my YouTube subs or watching Twitch or something. Kind of tune out... It was relaxing.

New beast tribes, can get all the daily quests done for for a tribe in less than five minutes per tribe! Honestly I think it's for the better, as long as the story quests are good.

Its not that bad as long as you know where the mobs are facing.
The worse one was kobold quests.
Bad camera angle in the mine made it harder than it should be.

I got the ground speed increases from hunting which allow you to travel at lightning speed. Combined with how small ARR areas are, it really wasn't a problem.

ARR areas aren't even painful to navigate on foot, so it was pretty easy to maintain my sanity all the way up till they added flying to them.

Oh, did them during HW.
It was easier but I tried to get extra exp on other jobs.

Took me a while to figure that I could get on lv60 job to cross areas and not getting aggro'd by the world...
Didn't helped that mounts were slowed by ennemy attacks, what a blessing it was when they removed that.

Just finished up after putting them off for so long. Even with flying it was suffering with the Sylph quests being by far the worse. I hated doing them - not a single one felt fun to do or interesting. Then the Sylph main quest... I wanted to strangle that scholar. He made everything 110% harder and more tedious.

Hats off to those that suffered this without flying.

I don't see the issue with not flying—I think it's more immersive.

Didn't really bother us back in the day since we didn't have another option. We did get rather good at figuring out how to sneak past mobs when possible.

Back in my day flying wasn't even in the game, I couldn't lament what didn't exist but not only that, every time a mob attacked you it would place a brutal movement speed debuff on you, even when mounted. This made the Sylph's especially obnoxious. To this day I come out in a fevered rash every time i get a carry quest with a timer.
