"Affects healing magic potency. Also affects attack magic potency when role is Healer."

Technically it is correct. It's not actually saying it's affecting healing, it's saying it's affecting a stat called "healing magic potency" and another stat called "attack magic potency" which are visible on the character page. This confused me at first too.

healing magic potency is used for heals that scale off it, which is really just the heals on healers.

attack magic potency is used by magic attacks that scale off it, which is all caster attacks and non-healer heals except autos.

attack power is used by physical attacks that scale off it, which is all melee and ranged physical actions and abilities and all auto-attacks.

Back in ARR, paladin would cross-class Cure and could stack mind and summoner could do the same for Physick and stack mind, although it's unlikely anyone would recommend it.

We have come quite far since then. Paladin got given their own heal in Heavensward (Clemency based on Strength) and in Stormblood the cross-class system was removed. Summoner outleveled the ability for Physick to matter even if they stacked some mind and then mind was not allowed to be stacked anymore. Red Mage got added in Stormblood and needed a heal to suit the lore so it took after the one Paladin had.

It obviously has to be this way because developers wouldn't want someone stacking a non-damage stat like mind and sacrificing half of their damage in the process.
