What Type of Accessibility Options/Features would you like to see added to FFXIV?

    Hello, All!

I've been having a ton of fun with FF XIV so far,
but I really think there's much they could do to improve accessibility.

Sure, they have the industry standard, color-blind filter, and 'visual alerts',
But I think they could do more to make the game easier to enjoy for a larger amount of people.
    1. Dyslexia friendly text styles.
    2. Make the elevation on the map easier to read.
    3. Add some form of text to speech or mid-battle event dialogue.

    1. Sure, the first one would likely take a lot of work to implement, as it includes not just the font,
but also text styling, size, color etc. But I think it would make for a great improvement! (Hud element styling/Adjustments could help too!)

See: "Video Games Need to Better Support Dyslexic Players - Access-Ability" by LauraKBuzz, or "How Accessible Were 2020's Biggest Games?" from
Game Maker's Toolkit for more information on this topic.

    2. This may seem silly to a lot of people here, but when I first got started with FFXIV, trying to figure out the map was by far my biggest struggle.
Sure, in linear area's it was fine, but in zone with overlapping paths it was a nightmare!
I pretty much had to max out the zoom every single time I needed to verify a path.

And I was constantly running into dead ends, because the path looks straight, but actually required me to circle around a bit prior to move to a lower elevation.

Maybe it's just me or maybe my display is too bright (so I can't tell the lower path is dark), but even hundreds of hours later, I'm still having trouble with this when I enter a new area.

I'd suggest a more visual indication of the different elevation levels for various maps, maybe not something as flashy as color-coding each overlap..
But maybe make lower paths that overlap darker? and if paths that look like the should connect but are blocked, could have a darker mark at the end to better show the end of the path without max zoom-in

    3. And third, with the massive amount of information given both in and out of combat, it can often be hard to concentration on event text during a fight,
So I often miss it and have to read back through the log after the mission is complete.
I also sometimes have trouble concentrating during very long, non-narrated cut-scenes,

So I think for both, the option to enable a Text-To-Speech engine could really help here!
It would need featured to allow people to dial in what text they want spoken (just event text, just npc, party chat, etc)
But I think it could be implemented in the PC version fairly easily, as windows has a feature for that built in.

These are just my suggestions, If you all could add optional features, what would you add?

Note: Everyone is different, and this is just a place to gather ideas/suggestions.
And this is just for possible 'Optional' additions/features, let's just assume (if implemented) they won't be forced on anyone.

1.0's map handled height way better, visually. Coming in to ARR beta testing after 1.0, the map threw me off too.
I'd say it could use a new look but if anything go back to the old look!
