Wondrous tails.

So, I accidentally picked it up on my 80, but didn't want to as I don't have access to at least half of the stuff at 80 yet (only just levelled), so I discarded it, hoping I would be able get a new one as I then didn't have one, but can't get a new book. Is there a way to recover a discarded journal, or am I just screwed, lesson learned, until next week?

Like Adeacia said, you might be screwed. But might I provide a suggestion for next week?

Find one thing that you can unsync at 80. Typically it’s a lvl 50 EX trial or one of the coils of bahamut or something. They’re easy to unlock and take about a minute to unsync. You can use second chance points on that one thing ad nauseam until you’ve filled out your wondrous tails. This way you never discard a book again.

Also wondrous tails will always include lvl 15-50 dungeons as a task, so if you still dont have anything and it’s all too much to unlock, you can run sastasha unsynced and that would take like 5 minutes.

Yea, that's pretty much what I thought, but it's not like it'll take massively long to make up the lost exp+tomes.

No, I don't, the problem was the availability of the things I had to do and how annoying it would be to complete, as stated above.

Yea, but you can get those second chance points like crazy so its easy to just get enough of those and just one thing in the book in a week. Like i forget to do it all the time so i'll just use all 9 of mine to like moogle king ex and desyn for those mats.

I often run these weekly with my FC; some advice we've learned:

• Assuming you are doing roulettes/main scenario, you should be getting a steady drip of points you can use to redo completed duties, allowing you to skip some of the harder stuff.
• You should have at least 4 things you can solo easy: Typically a dungeon you can solo (Any of the dungeons 60 and lower are cake for 80), and trial/primals from HW or ARR.
• Not all, but a lot of the Binding Coil/Alexander stuff can be solo'd as well, but these are more...troublesome than the above.
• Past that, yeah troublesome but easier is PvP, PotD/HoH and/or Treasure Map stuff.
  

Of course, as you already know, turn in the book for XP on another job.
