I agree, but I'd take it further and say that this is true of any pay-to-play game. This isn't the NBA, the NFL, or FIFA, where fans are paying money to watch the best of the best play a game. This is the exact opposite. Fans are paying money to play an accessible game. The minute developers lose sight of this and generate a system that actively makes players feel bad for lacking skill, their game degrades. Just look at how well Wildstar went over or at how WoW is declining right now for cases in point. Being a good player is already inherently rewarding. They get stuff done faster, they get the admiration of their peers, and their range of accessible content is broader. If that's not enough for a good player, and they feel like everyone else should be made to feel bad for not being as good as them, then I'd say that's a personality flaw on the part of the good player, not a deficiency in game design.
