People seem to be under the impression that you should have some sort of leet skill to play this game. It's a casual RPG there are plenty of games where you need to hop around and avoid things and having to compete in this one isn't one of them.

I agree, but I'd take it further and say that this is true of any pay-to-play game. This isn't the NBA, the NFL, or FIFA, where fans are paying money to watch the best of the best play a game. This is the exact opposite. Fans are paying money to play an accessible game. The minute developers lose sight of this and generate a system that actively makes players feel bad for lacking skill, their game degrades. Just look at how well Wildstar went over or at how WoW is declining right now for cases in point. Being a good player is already inherently rewarding. They get stuff done faster, they get the admiration of their peers, and their range of accessible content is broader. If that's not enough for a good player, and they feel like everyone else should be made to feel bad for not being as good as them, then I'd say that's a personality flaw on the part of the good player, not a deficiency in game design.

At everyone else's expense. There's more to the tank not holding aggro than just giving the healer more to do. Casters are going to have their skills interrupted, melee players are going to miss their positionals, and AoEs that should have been pointed into innocuous corners of the room are going to be unavoidable. All because you feel that your attention span is too limited to endure healing normally. It's ironic that you're asking for a performance review system to entice players to improve while you're also claiming to go out of your way to make other players play bad to challenge yourself. If you really felt that way, then you would be fine with a system that tolerates bad players because it would give you more of a challenge. That's why your statements are coming off as elitist rather than constructive.

Trying to put any ranking in content that, to begin with, isn't challenging in any way is completely pointless and, poorly implement, can force people to go out of their way or play less efficiently in order to achieve high rankings, wasting everyone's time for a meaningless ego medal. Not to mention commendations aren't meant to be an award for skill, but for overall behaviour.

The only changes to commend I would make are being able to commend people even after they exit duty and lock mentorship behind clearing synched content, not just an amount of duty completed and commendation receiveds because anyone can get those given time.

It's not antagonistic, it's reality. Logs at least demonstrate objective reality by offering actual numbers for things that matter. I never proposed a scoring system so I don't see why you would bring that up. If you think me saying "commendations are pointless" is antagonizing you then maybe you care too much about commendations.

Specifically after the TOS update where all the above are forbidden and warrant a penalty...
Whoever should be enforcing the will of the Devs is still asleep...
