Please remove withdraw-penalties when watching cutscenes!

This is now the 2nd time within 2 days I get a penalty point bc I am not allowed to either join the dungeon or withdraw from a dungeon queue while watching a cutscene in HW.

It is very annoying and unfair, because as a new player I don't know when the next cutscene comes around. I can't un-queue while in a cutscene, since the UI for all other elements than chat are disabled in function.

Also, I don't get a message like "conversation not available while on duty queue" or something.

I play this game to have fun, but problems like this prevent me from being allowed to have fun. Either I play quests OR dungeons. Why can't I do both?

I had this problem as well, until I was told that if you accept the duty you queued for, after you're done the game places you before the cutscene so you've missed nothing. Accepting the duty doesn't skip the rest of the cutscene.

    I hope this helps.

The "penalty" you get when missing or declining a queue is virtually nothing, unless you do it repeatedly. You get like 3 and then you get a 30-minute debuff where you cannot queue up. When the day resets, your penalty count resets.

So, you can miss one or two queues without worry. This should take care of the rare instances where the queue pops but you cannot access it (to be fair, during most cutscenes you do have access to the UI). Even if you do miss a third, which would be very, very rare, you only need to wait thirty minutes before trying again.

If you are missing three or more queue pops in a row due to cutscenes, I dunno what to say. I've personally missed one here and there, never missed two, never even came close to missing three in a 24-hour period. Maybe try some crafting or inventory organizing or Gold Saucer while you're waiting in the queue?

The problem is that the default cursor position on the dutypop window is on "wait". If you happen to skip the dialogue, with X on controller for example, to the next one, you accidentally will put the dutypop menu in the background and unless you skip the cutscene, you wont be able to get into that duty anymore. I feel like there should be a button or an icon that still shows the duty status in the corner, so we can still access it.

The easy solution would just to not watch cutscenes while roulettes are running. But I acknowledge sometimes you are doing a quest and don't expect for it to have cutscenes, particularly if it's a side quest. So these things can happen.

But you get up to three withdraws before you get penalized, so if it keeps happening multiple times a day, that sounds a bit like a you problem.

IMO they really just need to add a "postpone" option when you try to escape from a cutscene. Selecting this would kick you out of the cutscene back to your previous quest state rather than send you on to the next as "skip" does.

    Something something it's 1.0's fault.

This will work as long as you're using the same job. Since you can't accept a duty as a job different than the one you registered as, and you can't change jobs during a cutscene, if you had changed jobs you either have to eat the penalty or miss the cutscene.
