In case people are fans of his/ appreciate the support he has shown FFXIV and people who have been brought over because of him.

He talked A LOT about his mom over the years on Stream and how much she meant to him and how supportive she was.

My grandmother passed away not long ago and my dad had a heart attack a few weeks ago too my own family are getting older and mortality is beginning to make itself known.
So I sympathize a lot with him especially with such a close bond.

I found it interesting how much he talked about his mom (noting this was even before this issue), he definitely respected and loved his mom on a level that I feel more people should (either parent, but in this case the mom obviously). It was an admirable trait that honestly was one of the things that stuck out to me.

There isn't really much one stranger could say to another to make the present better.. so I just hope he has the support structure he needs for this tragic event...

Truth be told Asmongold is the reason I started playing XIV. I was a WoW player from TBC-Legion and then I quit. When Asmon started playing FF I got the itch for an MMO again and I'm hooked

Damn. It's the hardest thing when you lose a family member - let alone someone who's supported you over the course of your life. It's really stunning, and I hope Asmongold the best when it comes to dealing with this mentally.

Its hard enough when its someone you love that dearly..harder still when you are and were their carer, the bond is so much deeper, the love that much more strong. You do not just love them, you cherish who they are, each day they are with you is a priceless gift.

Its a shattering blow, heart tearing when part of your soul has gone with them.
