A Platinum Opportunity

Naoki Yoshida has mentioned that the "theme" colour that he envisions for Endwalker is platinum (whatever that means, who knows). Also, the "signature" job for Endwalker is the paladin.

I don't really play tanks, but very rarely I goof around on a gladiator. Just the other day I finally got it to level 30 and noticed this conspicuous line of dialogue in the quest that unlocks paladin:



What. The. Heck. He's been planning it all since ARR, people! All bets are off, anything is possible. Y'shtola will start talking to us players using our real life names. Tataru is the final boss. After the last MSQ of Endwalker we'll be told to look under our seats and there will be a photo of our characters in their current glam -- and the back is signed by Yoshi-P and dated August 24th, 2013.

I... think you're grasping at straws here and looking for something that doesn't exist I'm sorry to say. I just took that dialogue to mean "better than the best" (as in music when an album sells more than a gold record it goes "platinum" after all), given platinum is considered rarer and more valuable (from a metallurgical standpoint) than gold. So Lulutsu was basically saying "this opportunity is extremely special and not available to any old adventurer!" To paraphrase a famous quote from This is Spinal Tap, it's the same as saying "This goes to eleven!"

Yoshi's use of 'platinum' to describe EW metaphorically is simply coincidence and has nothing to do with that old bit of dialogue from 2013 (also I recall it was even older than that - Lulutsu said the same thing back in 1.0!).

It's coincidence, nothing more really.

I might be tripping but when I think of what he could mean by platinum, is the moment you have a sudden realization and then it doesn't matter anymore... Like he mentioned there is a brief moment we see the moon as platinum instead of yellow. I take that to mean the brief moment between life and death. Character death will probably be prominent this expansion. Possibly the death of a LOT of characters at the same time. But then after all we get them back by some means and in the ending everything's alright. I think the planet might blow up, and we go to another plane or the lifestream to get everything back to the way it was. This is pure speculation but it makes too much sense to me.
