It isnt Square's fault for all those dumb rules and regulations they have to dance around. Its a tough task to make contests and other fan participation events with the perverbial mindfield of rules and regulations in each country. We dont want them to get it wrong either! Or they could loose their licence to do business in that country. So give them a break. They're getting an A+ for effort in trying to give as many people as they can something to enjoy and have fun with. There will be things for us all to do given time. Just be patient.

Is it okay if we start our own thread here in General Discussion? I read the contest entries, but I'm not EU so I don't qualify for any prizes. However, I just wanna post some wishes for fun

For those in EU countries which SE can't allow their residents to take part, blame your retarded government not SE.

SE, like Blizzard, Trion, Turbine and many others, have to deal with some of the asinine 'gambling' and 'lottery' laws in Europe and whenever such companies have competitions umpteen EU countries are excluded because of their laws.

Yes, you may not believe it but gaming companies like SE aren't LOLRACIST, tey're not deliberately trying to piss you off, they're having to do with your country's stupid laws.

So, complain to your politicians.

I wonder if Australia will get any contests... It would be nice of the entertainment industry would remember that there's more to the world than Asia, North America and Europe. If even those three big ones aren't covering everyone under their umbrellas, I can't help wondering if the lesser recognised places will get access at all to stuff like this. I suppose we can still enter some things (like the Garuda contest) but it still feels kinda lonely being forgotten, ya know?

Its unfortunate some areas get left out of these little things but dont forget thats all they are. A little forum contest to get the player base excited is great, and its sad this is the response over something so trivial. Maybe they will stop doing these all together. Thanks

Man you guys would LOVE the PC Gamer website... US only contests... every one grumps, UK only contests... every one grumps...

While it's a bit odd that contests must follow rules when the only prizes are virtual, you have to remember that technically you're paying to enter a contest (even though you were only paying anyway). I'm always happy for the people that win, because I rarely win myself, so what's the big deal ^.^
