Same gear, different glams?

I don't see any glamour section anywhere in the forum so I'm going to ask here.

Is there any way to have different glamour sets for the same gear?

As in, for example, max level DRK and GNB are currently sharing same (fending) gear (apart from weapon of course), but if I apply a glamour set to DRK it also applies to GNB (and vice versa, if it isn't a job specific gear).

Is there any way to prevent this that I'm missing?

Yes.
If you right click on a gearset you can choose to connect it to a glamour plate:


In my pic it shows that I have a 13 to the right of my DRK gearset, indicating that every time I swap to that gearset it will automatically apply the glamour from plate number 13 (assuming I'm in an area where glamours can be applied).

As ItMe explained above, you can auto-apply glamours to gearsets – but note that the rules about where glamour plates can be used still apply. If you change jobs out in the field where plates can't be used, the glamour application fails and your gear will keep whatever appearance it had previously.

Yes, I realized that just now. And it makes sense, but it makes the option kinda useless.

You might be better to just carry two separate sets of gear if you regularly switch jobs in the field. Keep one job in your second-best armour for field switching and only put on the better gear if you really need it.
