Not trying to brag, just sharing my experience; I lucked out and three people in my XIV friend groups (myself included) won tickets from the draw and were able to share them with three other friends. Felt like the universe telling me to take this particular vacation. It'll be the only real opportunity to meet up with the buddies I've made in this game through Covid lockdown in person while we're all still relatively active. I did not manage to get tickets for Eorzean Symphony, but that's OK! Can't win em all.
Hey , No hate good for you, and it didin't sound like you were bragging at all (I mean you weren't tone deaf like that person on twitter who borderline bragged they were an american player who snagged an EU ticket..), was a tough almost unfair process, im glad you got something out of it where many did not and get to see friends. Not trying to brag, just sharing my experience; I lucked out and three people in my XIV friend groups (myself included) won tickets from the draw and were able to share them with three other friends. I do see now that this was about EU; I'm from NA and won tickets for NA, but the process was largely the same anyway. It's very unfortunate that NA folks decided to double-dip into the EU ticket raffle after losing the NA raffle when they potentially knew they couldn't attend themselves and just intended to scalp tickets. Gigayikes. The process this year made sense on paper but they might have to consider doing something different now that it is more widely known that scalping is absolutely a thing you can do and all you need is to win the raffle for any fanfest. I don't necessarily think the old style of spam a queue was any better though, so I deeply hope they don't return to that and are instead more selective about who can and can't enter the raffles.Hey , No hate good for you, and it didin't sound like you were bragging at all (I mean you weren't tone deaf like that person on twitter who borderline bragged they were an american player who snagged an EU ticket..), was a tough almost unfair process, im glad you got something out of it where many did not and get to see friends.
The only vent I have is that they host the EU liveshow overseas…just…bro why …some of us are scared to fly over water ;__;……..and scared of British orange tan/makeup style from the 2000 but thats a different problem.
The sale via the sale processor was a joke, placing you in a queue, then showing you a ticket available which immediately disappeared in the next step, just to start again.
But the whole handling of the EU Fan Fest by SE leaves a bad touch, choosing a venue (4000 people) which was obviously too small for the new player base, choosing a lottery system where you can resale your tickets and at the end choosing an inept venue processor. For the next FF they should offer players only one non-transferable ticket, choose a better processor and stream the whole FF (including the concerts).
Got myself a ticket during the raffle period and a few people I know got tickets during the general sale. It's going to be a fun weekend and I can't wait to see everything Square Enix have to show. Super nice that I got tickets for my first Fan Fest for the first time they host it after I started playing the game as well. Thank you Square Enix, very cool.
I'm aware of the rumours of their being only 4000 tickets which might make sense if this is just SE recycling event planning from pre-COVID for what would've been the Endwalker tour. It's a shame as the game has grown massively in size since then but it's just one of those things. There's plenty of bands that postponed tours in 2020 that are only just getting around to touring the dates/venues planned 3 years ago. Hopefully Square Enix are smart and plan a much larger European event for 8.0 media tour/fan fest.
The number 4000 is derived from the number of seats available in the main hall in the Excel (the UK convention center). But honestly with the huge increase of the playerbase interested in these events SE should think about the format of these events. I'm not sure if there are any huge convention halls in EU that they could use.
Congratulations to those who managed to get tickets, and condolences to those who didn't.
Would've loved to have attended myself, but already have family commitments that weekend.
I was there the second the tickets had become available and instantly clicked to buy a ticket for me and a friend, but I couldn't proceed to checkout. I heard they sold out within 2 minutes, but I tried and tried way past that. It even showed that a few tickets were left half an hour later. But seems like the server jzs couldn't catch up with the demand.
I really hate how it played out. Why did they have a queueing system when everyone got their turn at the same time and there was no reservation window for the ones that where already in the ordering window q.q
I'm happy for those who got tickets, but I'm also really frustrated, since this was the only event I would be able to go to this year and I was really excited about it. Now I'm just sad, imagining how it could have been like. I'm even so desperate as to search the internet for people who have spare raffle codes, but most of them are greedy jerks who sell them for hundreds of euros :/
