So, according to this:

We wont be able to gather HQ materials from nodes starting in 6.0 and the existing ones will basically be shiny NQ. The question I have now is: What will perception in 6.0 do, if it no longer affects the HQ gathering rate?

They said it would affect the number of items obtained per gathering attempt when they said they were getting rid of HQ gathering. As for fishing, im not sure yet. However, the next Live Letter is next week, and they'll be talking about DoH/DoL jobs then, so keep an eye out for that.

Perception already has multiple purposes. It affects some node bonuses. It influences the yield on Pick Clean and the effectiveness of Scrutiny. I would imagine it will continue to do those things at least.

As Doru says, we will probably get some answers during the Live Letter next week.

And unless theyre also eliminating collectables from gathering, perception will still be important for those too.

Mooching was always dependent on size. It was bigger than X size = HQ = moochable.

So all they have to do is go bigger than X size = moochable and stuff that used to increase HQ odds now increases odds on size. (Which might be what they did all along.)

Remember they are doing this to eliminate the number of items the servers have to keep track of. Not to **** with us.
