need suggestion to progress the right way in the game.

i have played wow for majority of my life . normally played normal or heroic dungeons in wow .i didnot went into mythic dungeons or mythic raids that much .
i started playing ffxiv 3 weeks ago .i have progressed my summoner to lvl 51 . my question is that what pathway i can take to progress in ffxiv ?
for most part i want to do msq and normal dungeons and probably level up my dark knight class and dancer in future .
can i get most of the glamor and gear by doing lifeskill and normal dungeons or are these locked behind end game content like savage or extreme dungeons and raids ?
what will be the correct way to approach it ? i am quite new to the game and would like to start and progress in the game in the correct manner .
P.S. if there is something i need to add .let me know in comments and i will try to explain in even more detail .

You'll level just fine doing dungeons and the MSQ.
Dungeons (especially with their guaranteed drops) will also keep you geared enough to make it to endgame. There you can upgrade your gear further with tomestones which will get you through basically all content.

Next to your name it says you're level 51. So you've just unlocked Tomestones of Poetics.
At level cap 2 new kinds of tomestones unlock. They're collected and spent in much the same way Poetics are, as Poetics are used to buy gear from previous expacs endgames (among other things).

If you want the best gear though, yeah you'll need to raid.

You can definitely get most items from normal gameplay. High level raids are entirely optional.

On that note, you'll see that some types of content in the game are labelled "raids" but (with the exception of the Binding Coil and savage difficulty raids) are no harder than regular dungeons or trials, so don't get scared off by the term. Alliance raids are more about scale than difficulty, and eight-man raids have a basic "story level" difficulty before unlocking the more challenging savage mode later.

MSQ is the core of the game that unlocks access to new areas and most of the dungeons. You should also keep up with your job quests, as they unlock skills, and sidequests with a blue "plus" icon, which indicates that it unlocks something – some useful game features are locked by these quests, like the challenge log and battle chocobo, but more often they unlock optional dungeons or (in the post-credits phase of each expansion) entire side stories spanning multiple dungeons or trials.

While optional, some of these side stories tie back into the main story, besides giving you access to new dungeons.

Glamour is everywhere and any piece of equipment can be used as a glamour. Some are locked behind specific types of content but there's a huge variety available from just normal gameplay. You can buy gear, receive it from quests or dungeons (every dungeon has unique gear) or various side content like PVP or the Gold Saucer minigame hall.

The only glamours locked behind high level raiding are a few specific weapons and dyeable versions of outfits you can obtain (in undyeable form) from the easier version of the same fight. And once they become outdated content, you're able to go in with an unsynched party – keeping your current level instead of being synched down to the original level – so you can get the things eventually even if you don't want to learn the fight when it's current.

Leveling up is easy to do, so the focus should be on the main story quests because these unlock new areas and the content in them. Blue quests unlock features like flying, dyes, classes, beast tribes, dungeons, trials and raids.

To level up secondary classes, you can do the dungeon closest to your level (except level 50, 60, 70 or 80 dungeons, these were once max level dungeons so they don't give much experience). There are many other ways to level including hunting log, guildhests, fates, leves, deep dungeons, beast tribes, roulettes, hunt bills and sidequests.

When you reach the first level 50, 60, 70 or 80 quests you are at the end of that expansion and start the patch story quests and side content released in that expansion. So if you have done the level 50 main story quest you can now do all the dungeons, trials and raids that were released in 2013-2015 which appear as blue quests.

Glamour and gear comes from a lot of places and that includes crafted gear on market board and vendors, tomestone gear, dungeons, raids, alliance raids, quests and other places. Most raids have a story version that drops gear and a challenging version which lets you dye the gear. It might seem daunting that there is gear locked behind challenging raids, but when it gets old and we have a higher level than the raid, the raids are a lot easier.
