Pretty much this. While I have played other FF games, I'm playing FFXIV to experience FFXIV. I want them to expand on the world and lore of 14, not shower me in nostalgia and fanservice, so I couldn't care less about more collabs.

I think they should "collab" with Final Fantasy VIII and give us some Edea / SeeD uniform / Selphie glam, with FFIV for a Rosa glam, and with FFII for a Minwu glam.

for a year, would you rather be secretly filmed at random moments and have the footage uploaded to your social media or loose $100 when ever you said a curse word?

You get that the modern budget is 0. They got non. How they can make good looking costumes? What you need is talent. No budget help if you got non. I say it one more time as you people skip it. They don't need to rush nothing take the time and when they can do it . Easy. There is a big difference between making a mod (particularly for a single player game) in one's own time and implementing content into an MMO with budget restrictions, scheduling needs, QA standards and a whole bunch of legal overhead.
I'm not making this stuff up, it's stuff I've learned from interviews with the people making XIV. I've also seen mod creators back up the fact that making mods is not the same as developing for an MMO.
It's not me making it more complex than it needs to be, it's you assuming it's easier than it is.

I mean. Why would they? If they don't stand to gain something, what's the point?
To my knowledge/memory, this game already has more in game collab content than any other MMO I've played except probably Aion. I don't mind overmuch, and I've enjoyed most of it, but I'm definitely not clamouring for more of it. Even Nier, like... I liked the raids. I thought they were fun, and I like the glamour. But the story lost me halfway through the second part, and the series as a whole ate up far more in game real estate than I personally think it should've. Having it as the alliance raid was maybe the best way to tell the story they wanted to tell, but as cool as the zones were I still think there was room for some cool content that actually expanded on Norvrandt's lore instead.
I won't be upset if they add more collab stuff, but I also won't be upset if they don't. I'm still probably not going to play Monster Hunter, or Nier, or Garo (is that even a game? Literally do not know) or whatever, but I mean. I'm also not gonna complain about neat glamours. It's whatever to me.

good crossover: organically integrating the lore and world of ivalice into the world and lore of eorzea
bad crossover: giant robot factory behind the dwarf mountains because ???

How about Grand Theft Chocobo?

There were/are more than enough collabs...

What to hate in them? I think 9u5 of all the raids this was the most fun
