don't you think for a game as popular as ff14 is be easy to collab whit lots of anime and games?
it don't need to be much more that a small quest and some nice glams.
what you think of this?![]()

I wouldn't want it to turn into PSO2, basically an online advertising billboard.

It is not necessarily easy to collab. It takes development resources away from the content we care about, especially if it's something like MHW.
There is also licensing, there was a crossover with GARO and now the mounts are unobtainable. I don't see the point in endless crossovers. I just want to play this game.
I think they do a respectable number of collaborations, in my opinion. Not too much, not too little. Just right.
how its a bad thing? by this point i mean there no FF14 look
no its not, they can have a small team for it and if you don't like it don't take part in it. i don't like crafting so i dont.It is not necessarily easy to collab. It takes development resources away from the content we care about, especially if it's something like MHW.

I think most of the community rather have the devs make original content then crossovers. MHW event was subpar and the trial was pretty lackluster. Most people found the nier raid pretty boring as well.
but one don't need to take form the other. its can be made by a small team that is not part of the core one. it not need to be mroe that what the dragon quest one is. just do 1 or 2 a year and it be nice for the glams. but if they want to go all out the can make it part of the core game. like the alliance raid for 5.x. don't know any one that hated it. you can say 4.x alliance raid was a collab for 12 as well.
Just takes up a lot time and pre-planning, mhw crossover for example was designed during SB development, nearly a year+ in advance. I suspect little to no crossovers for at least EW, just because covid nuked a lot if their freetime development, at best maybe some Square Enix properties already owns, but doubt anything involving other companies unless it just doesnt involve any ingame events or items.
Regardless of who or what team does the work on the collaboration, it’s still development time that could otherwise be put towards things more relevant to the game and NOT time limited like GARO.
The budget in both time and money is limited. I would rather a proper Christmas/Halloween/etc before..I dunno.. a Mario crossover.
Re:5.0 raids;
I bought Nier because of the announcement for 5.0 and I very much enjoyed the game for what it was, but the raids in 5.0 were very meh for me. I would have preferred almost anything, especially something that makes more sense in universe.
If it had to be a crossover, I wish they had done Secret of Mana utilizing the obvious reference from Qitania Ravel and the crashed Ronka fortress (Ronka being a Flying Fortress in FF5 and obviously the mana fortress from Secret of Mana).

Something to consider is skills. This new "team" might not have the skills to make such content and need the necessary training.but one don't need to take form the other. its can be made by a small team that is not part of the core one. it not need to be mroe that what the dragon quest one is. just do 1 or 2 a year and it be nice for the glams. but if they want to go all out the can make it part of the core game. like the alliance raid for 5.x. don't know any one that hated it. you can say 4.x alliance raid was a collab for 12 as well.
