I have been playing this game since Alpha and have run across a few issues that has rendered the game unplayable due to corrupted patch files. The only fix was to uninstall and reinstall the game. I will list some of the issues I have encountered and some i am encountering now. NOT ALL are gamebreaking but just annoying. :P

~ Unable to enter or travel through certain areas without total client lockdown(freezes picture but you can still here everything going on just fine)

~ Maps appearingly graphically glitched or missing (floors, walls, building, etc missing but the adornments remain)

~ Gear on other players showing up as missing or graphically wrong (for me all Monk AF pants shows up as invisi-legs on miqotes and bright white light pants on other races)

I will include screenshots of these as i run into them in-game.

What I ask for is that we get some sort of File Check that can scan and repair/replace corrupted files so we don't have to reinstall everytime a patch comes out and hope it doesn't screw up along the way.

this would be an awesome thing to have. i know i use it alot when steam games act up and it works wonders and saves hours of time re-downloading the entire thing because of one bad file.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and not sure what you mean by the other one. This problem isn't very common for me I just read about it alot when I was having the issue where anytime I entered Nanawa Mines or ran near Camp Bloodshore my games would start screwing up.

Right now I just get the weird graphical errors with monk AF legs on certain races and the crafter apron.

Either way, most if not all MMOs nowadays and even back in the day have a file check or repair feature. FFXI had it on the POL Viewer(hate that thing) so SE atleast has experience using one just need to figure out how to make one work with XIV pre/post 2.0.

Oh then NTFS, just making sure you weren't using FAT32. And this problem is confirmed to be a corrupt file, or just assumed since reinstalling is the only fix you have found? Then yes they should probably add a file checker. a checker of files. a program that scans each files MD5 hash, and reinstalls the file/s with incorrect MD5s. The reason even very old MMO's did this is its very easy to program to check, and they even have the file distribution in place. My guess why they haven't: ????

There are quite a few graphical problems with the game, I have seen black polygons on the floor, that flash, disapear and reapear, etc some really messed up things there the textures of the environment just look wierd, lemme see if I got a SS of the latter, its hard to explain lol.

Agree, 2.0 client needs to be much better, its needs to be flash based and not IE based, add a file checker and have the log in screen at the title screen and not the actual client itself.

I had a few occasions back in beta where this happened and had to reinstall the game completely, if it happened now I would be extremely annoyed.

Client and launcher will be redone so obviously it will be better and I hope it will include things like Filecheck... Even XI have that so :|
