As long as Roulettes are not tied to Trusts, people will still play with other people... at least until they get their Roulette rewards. Roulettes are a great way to keep group content relevant. Trusts are a great way to learn a dungeon or a new class/job at your own pace. I don't see Trusts replacing Roulettes. Players will still want the rewards of Tomestones that you can't get from Trusts.rather on the fence on this one.
sure, being able to essentially "solo" everything with a trust would be nice I guess, at that point makes it a single player game. I mean, I do get it, people are unpredictable and have varying skill levels, and will never complain if you want to either avoid tanking or healing.
but what does it actually teach you about playing well (or better) with others?

The trust system is being worked on so it can cover previous content, it just takes time.

This is the first I’d heard of this (a big hope of mine) being acknowledged in a context apparently attached to a dev comment!
When was this said and OMG it can’t come soon enough!
Dungeons are fun, people aren’t always fun, and the sub ticks on even when people aren’t desired, so “owning one’s time” via trusts has become my condition to remain subbed and I want trusts EVERYWHERE!

Somewhere in the recent wave of interviews, Yoshi P said that in 6.0 the Trusts would cover all Endwalker dungeons.
But before 6.1 he was going to talk about his plans to expand the system and his thoughts on the possibility of applying it to older content.
I'm not sure if that's mainly the stormblood stuff (as Squadrons can't go that far, and Trusts weren't added then) or what, but it sounds like something is in the works.

I remember either watching or reading an interview (I think it was one of the media tour ones, but I'm not sure) where Yoshi-P said that they'd adjusted the system for developing Trusts so that more of their developers could work on it. So perhaps we'll see more old content with Trusts this expansion, but it's not really set in stone. I'd also love to see them at least cover SB dungeons for the reasons you suggested. But before 6.1 he was going to talk about his plans to expand the system and his thoughts on the possibility of applying it to older content.

I disagree. It's normal to be new at one point or another and other players should be accommodating and not telling them to play someplace else with AI before allowed to play with others. A very backwards logic for an MMO.

Yes please! Squadrons are nowhere near as streamlined and good. A lot of dungeons are actually terrible to run with them but trusts are amazing. Much more immersive and I just feel relaxed during it.

They were great for any job that can take the hit of being the target of every targeted mechanic and/or the first few entire waves of vault trash. I gave up when it came to squishy ranged DPS and literally those jobs are parked now in the 50's and 60's waiting for the future trust support mentioned in this thread haha.

Squadrons are certainly not as smart, or role play fun, to use- but I do feel it is a bit inaccurate, comparatively speaking at least, to say they're not as good. Squadrons, when properly picked jobs and tactics, are much stronger than trusts even being able to complete content FASTER than even players in DF lol. They're one of the best ways to get exp during the frame that squadrons are actually useable.
Unless by good you just meant you had more fun with them due to them being smarter and far better role play value- then I agree lol. But in terms of strength, comparatively, squadrons are MUCH better than trusts if you invest them correctly. Also one of the few things I wish trusts had which was a more interesting investment system (rather than exp gates that they have currently which only act as a gate and no other benefit of investment).
