I'm also pretty sure this doesn't work if you warp to your Inn room in the Roost and not the aether plaza. I tried doing it and the duplicate in my loot list auto-dropped, not sure if it was the initial return or the exiting of inn room.

Definately can't use the inn return. It dumps my loot list about 10 secs after leaving the room every time. Best option: aetherite in town. Doesn't seem to affect loot list timer. Either way you're stuck waiting for your return timer afterwards.

I just prefer to make the rounds between camps (uldah > Nanawa > mun tuy > inn > repeat). And I also damage the gear so I can set it for repairs. I don't bother with the loot trick since using the inn prevents it.
