I never said it wasn't enjoyable, I enjoy it too. That doesn't mean that currently in the entirety of the GNB kit its the not the biggest thing to work around when optimizing high end raids though. It certainly doesn't mean that I want more of it in Endwalker either.
I will admit though that using Double Down and Bow Shock for movement is an interesting thought though lol
My issue is go back and read. TL;DR Current GNB is fine, but if you had to pick one thing that was the biggest pain to deal with, it's the forced oGCDs with Continuation, but that is mild and manageable due to it being 3 oGCDs every 30sec. Now they are adding more to the one minor issue. The highest CPM tank with the only forced oGCDs is getting more CPM and more forced oGCDs that no one asked for. That's it. While more buttons can be fun, unflexable buttons can be clunky and unfun, and we just got more of them on a role that is constantly weaving oGCD defensives.You're right, it is copium to think that bosses won't auto position themselves and you'll actually have do something as a tank in new fights coming to Endwalker, i don't know what i was thinking.
You lost me man, now i don't get it. Are you upset that gnb's apm will increase by like 3 actions? And i might've missed it but what's your suggestion for your problem with hypervelocity?
Another decent fix to alleviate excessive weaving would be if they removed potencies from gapclosers so you don't have to weave them in your bursts, this is the real copium to think that something like that would happen.
I don't like spammy, for damage mostly, gap closers, but I doubt they will change that. One idea I had specifically for Hypervelocity is keep it with continuation, add a cooldown of 15-60sec, and increase its potency accordingly. You still get to use it as attended, without as much usage, and you can choose which burst strike to use it on at least so there is mild flexibility.

I still disagree, but eh.
Here's a thought: move "Ready To Blast" from Burst Strike to Sonic Break.
I mean I get the issues he has but overall I'm fine with it as is. I do think Sonic Break and Double Down should be oGCD instead of weaponskills tied to GCD if they are on 60s CDs.
When I play Gunbreaker I'm probably just going to save Bloodfest for 6 BS+HV back to back and save Gnashing and Double Down for No Mercy windows.
It will feel more better IMO.


Not going to pass judgment on the changes until I can get my hands on it. And if it is a crap-storm, chances are we'll likely see changes either prior to the first raid tier or 6.1.





We'll have to see how things play out, but I think GNB will be just fine. GNB is one of those jobs where it looks like a lot on the surface (mostly because it is) but it's really not so bad when one actually plays it.
It would be nice if moves like Sonic Break, Bow Shock, and Double Down did something else on top of what they do/will do. By that I mean those three abilities really only have one real use, to be used during your No Mercy Window, which is a little stale in my opinion. Mind you MOST abilities and skills exist to be used during burst windows, but I like when they add just a little extra flexibility or trait to them. Best examples I can give are like WAR's Inner Chaos and DRK's Shadowbringer that can have a charge held outside of a burst window to be used in at a specific time for 'X' reason that doesn't hurt their DPS too much as they don't have a self buff window like No Mercy. Or PLD's Confiteor spam that is a burst window that allows for ranged insta casting and will end in an AoE DoT. Or WAR's Primal Rend that functions much like Inner Chaos, but is a also a gap closer on the GCD.
Like, what if they made a trait that upgraded Sonic Break to make it a 25y ranged weaponskill akin to an insta cast Holy Spirit? Or made Double Down have increased range from 5y to 10-15y so you can have two GCD's in your NM window for easily moving a boss? Or make Bow Shock a ranged ability like Abyssal Drain? They could even do stuff that would only affect non-raid scenes. Like adding CC to any of them like how NIN's Doton applies Heavy, or how WHM's Holy Stuns.
Not trying to add any new buttons, but I think those three move specifically would feel more impactful if they did more than just damage in No Mercy every 60sec.
