Role/Job switch for EW

I will most likely stick with Warrior and Paladin.

I play all 3 roles and switch between them Periodically.
I feel confident Ill main PLD as my Main Tank, Wht as my Main Healer and Main Fav Job.
DPS is where Im unsure and might Deviate. Im currently a Mch DPS and occasional Dancer. But it Might change to Monk...Ive missed Monk.
But Reaper, Ninja and Samurai are on my Radar for EW, and I wanna see if Summoner can be fun to play.

Weirdly Im less excited about what Sage can do..Im just happy a 4th Healer Exists. But Im worried it will become the new meta

Lots of people switching it up. Seems a lot of people are excited for or will be playing monk. The guy who said he was a drk main and will be switching to RPR, I get it sir.

Was a WAR main from 2.3 to 4.0 then switched to BRD for SB.

Tried to switch back to WAR for ShB but I couldn't enjoy it so switched to DRK.

Sticking with DRK for EW but likely switching between that and PLD to change things up.

I play MCH in all EX and lower content.

I'll be healing with a side of Red Mage, unless my family member catches up in time to raid. If they do, I'll be tanking with them instead.

Thanks to MNK's GL gone in 5.4. I planed to switch my main melee to Reaper in Endwalker.
But after job actions trailer, I decide to give new MNK a chance, a one last chance.
So in November 19th, instead of unlocking Reaper right away, I will spend the first hour on Dummy and see if new MNK impress me or not.
If it impresses me, I'll take MNK to MSQ.
If not then ... Reaper it is.

Hi all, I'm curious how many of you out there will be changing roles/jobs in EW.

Earlier today I was bringing some first timers in my FC through E4S.
We got to phase 3 and literally everyone else died. The entire group was screaming and hollering encouragement as I finished the raid soloing Titan down. As I landed the killing blow at 1HP with a lethal Living Dead ticking down my FC leader shouted "don't you dare change mains!♡!♡!"

So... uh... guess I'm sticking with tanks haha~

I have usually played damage through story content, but I'm going to go healer this time around. It's close between WHM or SGE, but I'm going to wait and see if I like how sage plays.

I've been changing roles about all over SHB, really.

- I started as a tank player, specifically I was a DRK only player for much of Stormblood. Then drifted into omnitanking and doing relatively well on most. (I also "mained" DRK in Heavensward, but I barely played that much since my friends hadn't really gotten into the game and I was kind of a lone wolf DF Hero -- aka I was the worst tank you could get in DF lmao)

- SHB I played every tank to death and couldn't really recapture that feeling I had back in late StB on WAR during O12S. I didn't really take to the tank changes too well, and I disliked how large boss hitboxes became and how immovable they felt -- I loved the movement aspect of tanking bosses, and I loved the old enmity system a lot more, and I enjoyed the skills that we lost in SHB.

I still enjoy tanking, specifically I really like GNB with a side of PLD nowadays, but I don't like tanking /all/ the time as I get bored. (okay I like playing tanks in bozja content -- i like doing like 25k+ dps, sometimes 35k+ if I Really Go All In)

For the last tier in SHB I drifted into healing, which I played Noct AST for a pretty casual raid static of beginners with some vets (and why I figured a new role/job would be fun).

Learned: I love healing progression. I hate healing farm. I hate healing when I've learned the script, the dance. I find it incredibly boring. I could do some really cool big brain things to fix wipes with healer LB3 or some very fast ED's, synas-benefics, etc... but those situations felt so rare that it didn't offset the Malefic Spam. I also don't enjoy healing easier content.

For Endwalker, I'm diving more into melee DPS. I've enjoyed Samurai since StB and in SHB, I've enjoyed NIN in StB (didn't play it in SHB), I've enjoyed DRG in both expansions, and I'm really interested in Reaper (partly, yes for the stupid over the top edginess of it, and partly because It Looks Cool Okay).

So I'm going into Endwalker with the angle of wanting to learn how to play Melee DPS primarily. I might branch into other DPS roles over time, but that's my starting point. (SMN visually looks cool, BLM's been on my list for a while)

I'll also have a tank/healer leveled to fill for stuff, which'll be IDK/Sage. Sage kinda just got points because I like the noises of their abilities, I like their little dash, I think their weapon is cool.
