Do it then.Straight up, if they have no problem with 1 button filler spam, I have no problem with the following:
/macroicon Glare
/ac Stone <t> <wait.3>
/ac Stone <t> <wait.3>
/ac Stone <t> <wait.3>
/ac Stone <t> <wait.3>
/ac Stone <t> <wait.3>
/ac Stone <t> <wait.3>
/ac Stone <t> <wait.3>
/ac Stone <t> <wait.3>
/ac Stone <t> <wait.3>
/ac Stone <t> <wait.3>
/ac Stone <t> <wait.3>
/ac Stone <t> <wait.3>
/ac Stone <t> <wait.2>
/echo Macro #1 finished <se.1>
Allows plenty of room for slide cast movement. It's a bit inefficient but if the FFXIV dev's don't care about efficiency, why should I?

I do, in Bozja. All the time. And am still generally top 3 in damage most fights. Because there is often 1 minute + without any damage whatsoever.
I absolutely would NOT advocate this in any high level content whatsoever. But solo? Or boring content like Bozja? Yeah, macro away.Ability macros are always incredibly inefficient because they don't have ability queuing so they always execute slower than just pressing the skill normally. Putting GCDs into macros is especially inefficient since on top of the missing ability queuing the <wait.x> command can't do decimals, it only works in full seconds so you always lose half a second between glare casts and that's assuming you have 0 spell speed.
IMHO, the macros are not "incredibly inefficient". Are they inefficient? Yes, but at most you'll lose a few GCDs a minute. or so. Hardly game breaking in casual content. These are healer DPS GCDs. Half the damage of what a DPS can do.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

It's not hard to do alot of damage in Bozja when the game is literally chucking large damage multipliers on you with essences and the like, no need to inflate your ego about it.I do, in Bozja. I'm pretty sure their point is that healer dps gives you a participation medal to the point where you can literally spam a single skill using a macro and do better than the vast majority of dps players, even if you are using an essence, it's still a single button that accounts for 70% of your damage and if you throw in dia that's another 14%
The only job that's somewhat comparable is having a red mage with a macro that just spams jolt into veraero/verthunder, and even then I'm sure you wouldn't get similar results in terms of damage if you compared the percentage of maximum potential damage
Watching forum drama be like

You end up losing a ton of potency with it. The base GCD with no additional spell speed is 2.5 seconds. By waiting 3 between casts, that macro ends up casting 2 (plus a little extra) fewer spells in its timeframe than you would casting them normally.

I wish healer could at least get the BLM treatment with Thundercloud procs on all the dots. Let it deal full damage on impact when the proc triggers so we have a reason to use it more than once every 30 seconds.
