Veteran rewards

After being denied my 1.0 legacy rewards and trying to get that for years and they took away veteran rewards what is there to keep people signed up? Idk I just feel that we should get some sort of rewards for supporting the game.

And if you didn't participate in the actual legacy promotion period, we'll you wouldn't have gotten those rewards either.

I'm not sure I'm following. You support the game by buying their product, they reward you with the content you paid for. Standard business transaction, I don't understand why there needs to be freebies thrown in on top of it?

WoW has that kind of model where they throw in bonus rewards like mounts and transmogs for 6 month sub its they've only ever created animosity within the playerbase, I don't feel like FFXIV really needs to bring any of that here honestly.

You still get one. You just get it from the story instead of vet rewards.

As much as I wish I could have the veteran rewards (specifically the gobbue; I want more gobbue mounts square. Give me more gobbue mounts.) if I could go back in time I still wouldn't play 1.0 because lmao that game was bad. Which is why I didn't play 1.0 in the first place and why I don't have the veteran rewards. They're more of an apology than anything "sorry you played the bad game".

If you played the game, you would see these rewards you get for continuing to play, especially when you come back for tomestones. (Here are some mounts you didn't get while you were out being bitter. ^_^ )

There are so many horror stories about how the market system used to work (to give you an idea, you could probably safely say that the current housing system is more or less the residential version of how the 1.0 marketboard worked), or anima budget causing you to periodically just not be able to use aetherytes at all (which was super fun in the Black Shroud, let me tell you), and...

As I've said before, 1.x was a mess of jank and downright baffling design choices. It's just one we can be vaguely nostalgic for now. Y'know, from a safe distance (i.e., the better part of a decade). Sort of like the way you can appreciate the pretty colors of an oil slick on water, in the abstract, even as it completely destroys the ecosystem.

Sometimes I think the biggest reward for playing FFXIV now is simply "continued relief that we're not playing 1.0 any longer".
