    So, lot's of gear options, yet no gear swap in active mode..

    I was going over my gear sets for DRG and WHM and I noticed that, compared to FFXI there's a helluva lot more situational gear to use in this game. For example DRG body is mainly useful for the boosted invigorate, however Explorer's Tabard or a triple melded Cobalt Hauby is still far superior for 'everyday use" or just in general unless there's a hidden benefit to using all AF I'm not aware of.

    So whether you're for or against gear swapping, we're getting flooded with gear that's almost designed for it ontop of being able to meld and have 6 different versions of the same gear screams for it lol :| Hopefully when they let us upgrade AF it'll remove that need for an active gear swap, since otherwise I think there's been a disconnect between the item team and what the community reps relayed to us >.>

    So aside those who hate gear swaping, those who do still utilize it, especially for mages, do you break down your sets as usual or just keep a single triple meld (x) and go to town in AF armor?

    The closest I would like to see to gear swapping is bosses in dungeons that require different gear sets, for example one boss that needs an acc set, then when outside the next boss room it requires a high damage set, but never never never add active gear swaps, in FFXI I needed atleast 3 macros for 1 WS and I never want to see that again.

    I love gear swap so i hope SE add it soon. It feel that my gear every update will be removed because i can't use different sets.

    This is pretty much what happens now, which is why compared to XI there's a lot more reason to have the ability to swap your sets around even in battle. You don't need 3 macros for 1 WS in XI for example, but here you definitely need to stack accuracy for 1 WS on some bosses, especially you play LNC/DRG which already has an acc penalty on it's WS, all the while you also want to do a fair bit of damage in the process.

    They should probably stop giving us a lot more options then, as I already stated, you can already swap gear in passive mode, so gear swapping is already in this game.

    Stop giving us options? So because we are given these options the dev is inclining us to swap gear mid battle? It couldn't be because some people want to stack a different stat? Because I know various ARCs who stack differently.

    WoW has more gear and options than any MMO out there and doesn't allow gear swapping either.

    It's about knowing your class and planning ahead of time on how to spec yourself.

    There is nothing stopping you switching gear prior to a boss fight, but I think its lame and stupid to change gear during a fight.

    Some people just can't understand context. The fact you have so many options and can barely utilize it on some classes/jobs is going to end up becoming a problem. As I stated, mages can already carry around a lot of sets for different situations and actually swap in and out of it depending, as they don't need to be in active mode to do so, melee though, can't. That's why I said if people are so hard pressed against gear swapping (even though you can do it now) they should probably stop giving us a lot of options if we're not supposed to use em.

    Then again, most people still only use full AF so I guess having options doesn't really pertain to a lot of people who play.

    Nothing is, but it's a lot more efficient being able to change with the flow of battle. Funny how people are for dynamic encounters yet are against players being able to adapt to it.

    Knowing your class means nothing when the bottomline comes to you needing to stack accuracy. For example DRG is about comboing, so stacking acc is basically the only thing you can do, but then you have gear that enhances your abilities you won't be able to fully take advantage of, why? Because you need to stick with pure accuracy.
