September - October IS the Beta, The re-release isn't untill Dec 2012 - March 2013.

All there doing in September is releasing the 2.0 Client software to allow everyone time to install it before the beta goes up.

They will Beta test both at the same time, also you seemed to of missed this.

You copied those lines above so you obivously didn't read the one under it. Both PS3 and PC Version 2.0 will be in Beta testing at the same time, note the Free trial period ending and the bolded part.

begin distribution means shipping new games, the 2.0 will need a clean instal so they are shipping disc. it doesn't mean its going live then.

Its actually a little ambiguous, but I think SE said current subscribers get early access, which is what that Begin distribution of version 2 is, when they will allow us to download the finished client, the beta could be before that, and what we will get in sept-oct is the finished version.

I still can't believe beta is only a couple months away. It felt just like yesterday we found out about 2.0.

It feels like yesterday I was getting into the Alpha for the original launch lol.

Man I hope 2.0 isn't a repeat of that o.o;

Besides CGI cut scenes, it would be great if they show some gameplay running on the 2.0 client, and some large scale battles to show of combat as well.

Besides Aug-Sept is Radical changes... Thats like a "Warm-up" to FFXIV 2.0 Pre 2.0 if you will =)... so its "like" were experiencing 2.0 but not officially :P.

Distribution to me means....

everyone beiong able to download the client, so that when 2.0 goes live we arent all patching/downloading the damn client on the same day at the same time
