FF14 crashes during high particle scenes

Greetings,

this problem is bugging me since i had tried the trial 60 version.
During certain cutscenes, but also boss encounters where a lot of stuff going on (especially aoe voidzones or any kind of flashy smokey explosions) my PC crashes.

Example: Shadowbringers Cutscene #5 during the flashy sequence where the enemy has exploding shards in his chest -> Guaranteed crash

It shuts down completely and the fans of my GPU turn up to 100%. I have tried some troubleshooting myself, but to no avail.

What i have tried so far (not in order):

1: Starting game with D9 instead of D11
2: Reducing graphics to min, disabling other people's effects etc.
3: Clean install of my GPU drivers via DDU
4: Reinstalling the game
5: Reinstalling Windows 10
6: Disabling any kinds of overlays (AMD overlay, Discord overlay)
7: Turning any non-vital software off (Discord, Chrome, etc.)
8: Reducing the window size of the game while playing in windowed mode
9: Remove any dust from my PC

Other games are working without any issues. Recent example would be the BF2042 beta, which has quite high requirements and was playable without any crashes occuring.
Temp is between 50-70°c -> AMD RX480

Hi, i guess this is caused either by overheating of your GPU or CPU. Or your PSU does not have enough power and it does an emergency shutdown to prevent damage.

GPU and CPU temperature during gameplay stays in between the normal range. There are definitely no overheating issues.

A faulty PSU on the other hand could be the issue. Sadly, i have no spare PSU to test it. Gotta buy a new one to check if it is the culprit.

So far, i had no issues with any other game.

Please do not close the thread, until i get another PSU to test it @Mods

Edit: Nope no overheating and a new PSU didn't do the trick.

I am playing on Windows - Standalone client.
Happens with one character, since i do not have more than one.
DirectX 9 didn't change anything. Still crashed at the same moment.
When i leave my Character to stay idle in, for example in Limsa Lominsa, nothing happens.

The above mentioned steps had already been undertaken, to no avail.

What i had noticed is, that it always crashes if there is a lot of smoke or highly flashy animations. The same crash happened during the ENDWALKER Benchmark while flying through a smokey area.

Example 1: CUTSCENE https://youtu.be/3MFYXNc76nc?t=1294 -> Shortly, after this very moment when the shards, which are stuck in his body explode, my pc crashes. I tried it multiple times with different settings, which all had the same result.
Example 2: Boss Fight: https://youtu.be/-SVLSK51ifo -> When he casts Heavensflame, circles are spawned beneath the players. When it explodes, my pc crashes.

Could you try using a registry cleaner such as CC cleaner? It will run and remove files that may have been left behind by installation another activity on the PC. To so, please remove the game and then restart the PC. Run the registry cleaner and then restart the computer. Once the computer has been reset please reinstall the game again. After reinstalling the game, please restart the PC once more. Once the PC has been reset, please launch the game.
