Request: FFXIII Crossover Rerun/Update

The FFXIII event was nothing special to write home about, and was just a series of dull FATEs that Lightning helped fight (two of them were against enemies that are already in the game elsewhere to boot!), and a single cutscene at the end in Gridania, so for those who missed out, you're not actually missing out on much, and can now just buy the items anyway - besides, the event was technically meant to crossover with Lightning Returns which was being launched around the same time (and had a FFXIV miqo'te costume and Grand Company weapons for Lightning in that game). As that is long, long passed however (like, that was back in 2013) and as such, SE just added the items to the Mogstation, a pretty conclusive statement will not be coming back.

Also, even if the event did hypothetically return they would not update it with new items (especially to give weapons for new classes/Jobs), as SE has never actually done this (when the FFXIII event was repeated after ROG/NIN was added to the game, they did not add new weapons in the event for that class/Job, and even when the items were added to the Mogstation, there was no new weapons or items added, it was just the same rewards as the event offered). This is also why more recent crossover events do not feature weapons but just gear and other items like glamour costumes.

So I'm sorry to say, it is never coming back (and not surprising given it was the first crossover special event in the game, so it's long passed it's use by date).

I think it is too late. Everything from FF13 events are already in the Mogstation. So either it will never happen again, or it will but with different rewards.

Yeah I addressed that in the OP, which is why I suggest alternative rewards if they were to rerun it. Then I rounded up a bunch of images of stuff I think looks cool from FFXIII that would be fun to see in FFXIV.

It's not a bad idea OP, but it's just not a thing they want to happen. Most of the FFXIV collabs are, essentially, fancy advertising. They wanted FFXIV people to get interested in/buy Nier, or Dragon Quest, or whatever. Even the out-of-company collabs have mostly been about cross-pollinating to attract business from other companies.

So, unless it is still a newish game or getting sales, I wouldn't expect it. In fact, I'd expect your next major collab event to be with FFXVI in 2022.

yeah it ain't coming back at this point. even with the return of old collabs and the ability to even replay them now, no new content is being added to them.

if they were going to add new content they would create a new event entirely. i suspect part of the reason DQ even is back on is because of the release of DQX offline in Japan (maybe).

I wouldn't mind it getting an update to it to at least get weapons for all the Jobs added since it ran originally, since it was even before Ninja was available for players...

I wouldn't mind Lightning's XIII-3 getup (Equilibrium) being added to FFXIV but I think that ship has long sailed
