Please add a toggle to turn off the usage for event food-type furnishings..

I like to decorate the FC house for seasonal events. This includes using the lovely event food-item furnishings that SE provides. Problem arises when players (especially new ones because they don't know any better) use the food items.

This wouldn't be much of an issue if they were normal crafted food items but, they aren't. Once said event is over, you can no longer obtain the consumable furnishings unless you want to pay $5 in the cash shop next year.

If you're going to charge $5 for a furnishing that can be "ruined"; please add a toggle to turn off use of the items.

I completely agree.
Back on Tonberry my FC house would get raided once a month by people that would just eat all our food and leave.
It would also clean up the presentation a bit because if you can't interact with the item it won't have that arrow hovering over it.

They could just make these event consumable food decorations have a usage counter and when it hits 0 it becomes just a decoration.

I like the idea of food items becoming decoration only once consumed...with the caveat that they be storable. I want food on my tables as decoration, not an open buffet for anyone who comes into the house. Some of the items take a bit of doing to craft and the seasonal ones? Well, nobody wants to lose a limited-release item due to someone else's selfishness.

All the yes. People were doing it in our fc house as well. I'd like to be able to have food on my tables and not have it vanish because someone wanted a snack.

Just make housing food items pure decoration. If people want the food buff, they can go pick up food. Stick some in the FC chest if you want to share.
