Oh hey, thanks for the tip, I actually didn't know that
I mostly prefer to run as a warrior so might just need to remember to save shake it off for the tankbuster assuming it'll always be off CD

This is the problem, this is exactly what I did. I don't run it randomly anymore without at least an 8 man that come prepared. Of course we all want to sign up as DPS to make it go as smoothly as possible. I told them we're gunna regret not having a MT. Yep, other profane healer and I are eating TBs left and right despite having 5 other tanks present in the raid. I really wish I did not have to ask for basic competency from non PF people.

Yeah I've queued that a couple times as a tank and literally had nothing but tanks and healers in my party. My only gripe with DR is not having the boxes for the other parties like when doing the 24 player raids. It's sometimes hard to tell if the person getting hit in the face in one of the other parties is actually a tank. Where as on the 24 player raids I can just look up do see who is outlined and see their job icon.I think you should run normal DR and then come back to us since having 4+ tanks in there is pretty common. I've been in DF parties where we have 7 tanks and 1 DPS in a party. I've also has situations where there are 0 tanks and people just leave cause no one wants to take on the job. Lol.
I mean you can just communicate before pull. Tanks will ask me and/ or I tell them I got doom.Even if you take the responsibility and main tank sometimes it screws you over like if you take the tankbuster for the last boss and the healers are tunnel visioning on the 1 button they have to press to do damage
At least for me I won't tank without either a bloodsucker essence or a pure essence on a warrior, plus the debuff cleansing kits that are stupidly rare in case the healers aren't paying attention
I think the issue is mostly that they don't allow you to switch jobs in DR.
A tank can choose to DPS if they want to, Lost Actions make that possible to a degree.
Thing is, Bozja in general grants some freedom to do things that aren't necessarily optimal. I think that was the dev's stance when they designed it. Unfortunately players always want to min/max everything for efficiency and it shows in the community, particularly the forums, where curtesy takes a step back. You often see complaints about players not using DPS essences.

Well I feel lucky then. I ran into 2 DR in which 0 tank were to be found -> I yelled that i'll be doing it (as DRG + actions). Though some were skeptical, it went smooth and all! and I found it really fun XDI think you should run normal DR and then come back to us since having 4+ tanks in there is pretty common. I've been in DF parties where we have 7 tanks and 1 DPS in a party. I've also has situations where there are 0 tanks and people just leave cause no one wants to take on the job. Lol.
one other time we didn't have any spare healers so I switched to healing.
It's a bit of a shame that, considering all the available options, among 24 people none of them is willing to bite the bullet for once. but oh well
I've seen the opposite more often myself - multiple tanks who spin the bosses around because they won't just let one of them do the tanking. OP's situation is extra surprising for DR considering you don't get any special queue priority for going on tank, so if you don't want to you can just go on anything else.
In both cases though, the main problem is just people who won't take 20 seconds to figure out what to do at the start. They put a cache in the place for a reason - if you brought irregular and blood rage but you're the only tank in the instance, then you should easily be able to fix this. Same for healers who brought profane, runs with 0 tanks where someone needs to grab incense, the list goes on. It takes very little time to talk it out and then switch things around, but so many people don't look at who's in the instance with them and just run in and pull the first boss immediately.
I tried tanking once on lowbie dungeon. In the beginning of the run, I was taunting and hitting all the mobs. They are not sticking to me for a reason. A party member remind me that I forgot to turn on Ironwill. The run went smooth after that.
Can you make a thread for dps and healers too. They seem to think im some sort of trust npc so they can afk. Sub par dps is not allowed
