Command or UI Displaying Title of Music Playing

My buddies and I have been going through Palace of the Dead and we always discuss the music that plays as it cycles through, trying to remember what is playing. If there is some sort of Jukebox UI when in dungeons. That or a '/' command that would display the current music. To me this would a great quality of life update because it would help new players recognize what orchestration rolls they want and in general music is a big part of the game so just would make sense to me.

They should add "Now playing: 000 Track Title" to the top of the /orchestrion window with the bold vs faded text indicating if you've collected it and clickable for Where to Find it, so 1) you know what the title is and 2) you don't have to search the list for it.

One thing I have found that works, because the songs are all registered online to OSTs, is if you have Shazam on your phone, use that. It will look up the song name for you.
Of course, it's not perfect. It just gave me the title of one of the piano songs in Gyr Abania all written in Japanese. XD

It needs to be noted that a significant portion of FFXIV's OST is not available in the Orchestrion (the tracks the Orchestrion use are actually seperate files to the actual music the game client uses, hence Orchestrion rolls have to be individually coded), plus much of the soundtrack itself isn't even available commercially on soundtrack albums officially released by SE (Palace of the Dead incidentally uses a lot of old music from the original 1.0 version of FFXIV that is long shut down), so such a list probably isn't possible.

It would be really nice to have (speaking as a lover of FF music myself and especially a fan of FFXIV's OST), but alas due to FFXIV having so much music (it won a Guiness World Record for "most individual music in a MMORPG" - back in 2015, and there has been even more music added since, there is something like more than 500 individual music tracks in the game!), it's probably just too much work to implement alas.

Another option, while an easier one is nonexistent, and for those that for whatever reason don't or can't use a music-recognizing service like Shazam (which is an excellent idea), is just to open a browser tab to YouTube and search for whatever it is you're looking for.

Searching for "Palace of the Dead music" via either Google or directly on YouTube reveals the tracks.

I know this seems like an obvious thing to do - I don't mean to be patronizing - but some folks just don't think of searching, and instead just live without whatever knowledge it is they seek. Even if it's a bit more inconvenient, I'd rather have folks Google the songs and have them available to listen to at their disposal (or to track down the Orchestrion roll) than I would have folks sit there bummed out that they don't know what track is playing and have no idea how to find it.

    Good luck!

It can take a bit of hunting, and the right keyword search to find what you are looking for, but I have used this method as well many a time.

Just so you know, there already exists a Dalamud plugin that does just what you describe.
