Option to hide shoulder pads in chestpieces

This is something that has been bothering me for a while and I know at least one of my friends also hates this. Shoulder pads can easily ruin what would otherwise be a great chestpiece. This is especially true for some races *cough* Elezen *cough* because of the weird proportions. It can also throw the piece's whole balance off when the pad/armor is only on one shoulder *cough* aiming *cough*. Sometimes these pads can be ridiculously big, though probably nowhere near what they have in WoW (based on what I've heard).

I understand some people probably like the shoulder pads, and good for them, but for those of us who don't, we're stuck with them. It would be really cool to get the option to hide them, just like the visor option.

Can we also have the option to hide the buttcapes while we're at it?

Unfortunately harder to do than in WoW, where shoulderpads are their own models. They're built into the chestpiece in FFXIV, same with the buttcapes, they'd have to go over every relevant piece and create shoulderpad and/or buttcape-less versions

I would like to think one day we could have the shoulder pads and chest piece separated - IMAGINE THE POTENTIAL. I imagine it would be a lot of work to make that happen..

Also, I hope one day our character’s nails and gloves will be separated too - I love my claws of the beast and there’s some fingerless gloves that would go really well with it… but I understand, a lot of gloves would clip.

Hrothgars' claws being part of their starting gloves will never not be hilarious(ly sad) to me...

    imagine the lost inventory space....

I dont see or want separate shoulder pads, since generally, they may look okay on paper, but are hideous in practice as their own unit. as it is now, they are part of the chest, and I dont see them as reworking the entire chest system to make them not visible

Yeah... This is my fear too (T_T). At the very least, I wish aiming chestpieces would have fewer pieces with that awkward one-shoulder pad. As things stand, almost every aiming piece has this. It's so repetitive. I really wish they'd give aiming more outfits with no shoulder pads at all. One can only dream...

I would love this especially with chestpieces with skirts/overly long waistwraps attached (Tank/Aiming Bonewicca gear, Ravel Keeper's, etc.)

Funnily enough, I've also made a thread about this issue too XD I was devastated when I saw that the beautiful Paglth'an aiming chestpiece had that skirt thing attached to it. I wouldn't have minded had it been as pretty as the healer chestpiece's lower part, but the one we got is definitely not for everyone.

I feel like it would be easier to just increase the bust slider beyond 100% rather than placing shoulder pads into the chestpieces. This would result in unnatural shapes in many cases, depends on the chestpiece in question. Also, some chestpieces this doesn't seem like it would be "logically" possible. For example the Light Steel Galerus. The chestpiece is clearly a solid metal piece, so how would you hide the pauldrons/shoulder pads in the chestpiece? There's no where for them to fit!
