I wouldn't be surprised at all if the final boss, whatever it ends up being, takes on the name "Zeromus."
There just isn't any evidence for it at the moment.

Given Zeromus's lore in FF4 if it does make an appearance I would think it would be something that Falafel (or whatever that guy's name was, I remember it starting with f) would turn into in some way.
didn’t they say in the live letter that EW’s trials and raids were going to be all original? or did i misunderstand.

I'd kind of like if it ended up being something unexpected that isn't Zodiark and/or Zenos, but it's not as though the final bosses of the previous expansions weren't predictable.
As long as the build-up to said boss is sufficient and satisfying, it doesn't really matter to me what it is in the end.
I think they meant "original" only in the sense of being mostly derivative from XIV's own lore, unlike the Ivalice and Nier raids.
It doesn't necessarily mean we're fighting completely new enemies since we already know that Anima and the Magus Sisters are two of the MSQ trials, and I fully expect to also see some familiar faces in Pandemonium given it's inspired by the locale of the same name from FF II.
The benchmark have already told us who would be the first trial boss, and he is Zenos.
You mean the same type of benchmark than the one that teased us Yojimbo? You know, that same Yojimbo which ended up being a dungeon boss in 4.0.
IMO, the various terminus beasts that we see in the benchmark could be the add phase during the Anima trial, and Zenos could be a dungeon boss...again...or a single player instance, again...
I'm taking Lore way too seriously. And I'm not sorry about that.
Endwalker's final boss is Tataru. To have taken in the cash register without asking
