    In reality I am much in the same mindset as Moose. I would like a more down to earth sort of story, where we go somewhere where we aren't known. We struggle again/get barred by leaders we haven't met. Maybe a trusty Alisaie or Alphinaud along for the journey. Meracydia interests me greatly. I'd also very much like an underground similar to the one in FFIV(which I don't think we'll really be getting, Labyrinthos be damned!).

    But if we absolutely must raise the stakes again and go insane... let us forsake time travel. Let me revive Midgardsormr and ride his flaming mane unto the stars, back to the Dragonstar, back to bring the dragons their homeland restored. Let me fight and defeat what's left of Omega's civilization. Let me go be an alien to some race of people that we've only heard about through implication and data recordings. Maybe let me carry Alpha and Omega in my knapsack, such that they can both become major characters for an ark of the main story.

    I'd rather leave the Source and its Shards behind completely if the story must become ever more outlandish. Let it truly, literally be outlandish.

    The major loose ends right now I think are:
    - Dalmasca... but they'd have to make the Ivalice Raids and Bozja mandatory in order to build an expansion around that, and I don't see that happening;
    - The Thirteenth, which would require Warring Triad, the ShB Role Quests and subsequent Void Quests, which would still not be as arduous as Bozja, at least, imo;
    - Meracydia has been namedropped a lot (in the Coils of Bahamut, Warring Triad, most recently in the MSQ), and we have the cooperation of the Dragons now too, so it's not out of the question... but whatever story they set there would essentially be entirely new;
    Then again they could do...
    - Something completely out of nowhere, like ShB was;

    I don't even want to go to any new locations at all. I've been rather unimpressed with how regions have felt a bit undercooked since about Stormblood onwards, and how some story threads have been neglected since at least ARR, if not even earlier (I can't exactly blame Yoshi-P and company for things 1.0 neglected, though).

    I want expansions that color in the world we already have. I want a 'Garlean rebuilding' expansion so they get more than a single zone, or more on Thavnair, Sharlayan, Doma, Hingashi. I want us to focus more on how bad Ul'Dah is as a government, how Limsa handles their maritime enforcements. I want to finally learn more about Gelmorra and the Elementals, oh god please finally let me learn more about them, I'm a Duskwight player, I need it!

    As the main focus of 7.0, I'd like something like a big Alliance sponsored exploration expedition to Meracydia, get some age of discovery vibes going on. Deepish stakes, the expedition could fail, or whatever is threatening it could be real bad for the people of Meracydia, but not quite a world ending threat like we have been dealing with.

    Side things that I wouldn't mind looking deeper at:
    • A bit of a better look at Ilsabard, exploring that continent a bit and dealing with whatever remnants of the Garlean Empire exist/the fallout from its collapse.
      Maybe we could have a bit of grey in this content too. I think it'd be interesting to come across a liberated nation that were massive assholes before, to the point the Garleans actually toned them down a bit, and now that they're free they don't want to let bygones be bygones and be better, they want to go straight back to being massive assholes.

    • A deeper dive into the 13th, I think it could be a good base for the 'exploration area' relic content they like doing. Smiting void monsters & bringing balance to parts of it, all while powering up a weapon and getting some ridiculously OP void spells to use there.

    • A little peek at the other shards, without going too deep into them. Maybe a deep dungeon that's been pinching chunks of shards and trying to mush them together. Got a mini story idea for it, but to keep it brief, while I don't particularly want a whole shard hopping expansion again, not so soon anyway, I would really like to see a bit more of the others.

    Why? Speculation doesn't require confirmation. If these things are wrapped up and you had a chance to suggest where locales and stories should go next, isn't there something you would like to see, either in general terms or specific?

    Thanks for helping make the FFXIV community a fun and welcoming place. If you're not sure you have (and you very likely have), make it a point to be patient or helpful the next time you log in so that you can know you've made a difference.

    If you're on the Aether data center, congratulations! I might be your next exciting adventure healer in the Duty Finder. Please look forward to it.

    At this point it's getting a bit tired, in all honesty. Zodiark was created to salvage the world. I doubt they will even align with Fandaniel given that singular point. Once Zodiark is gone and they're potentially untempered (I'm not really convinced it's all that relevant but perhaps it will be depending on how Zodiark wakes up; in any case, it's feasible), it makes very little sense for them to run around causing trouble, because otherwise it's going to raise questions in my mind about how original/creative the XIV team is willing to be. Rehashing the same antagonists for expansions after 6.0, after their heavy hitters are gone, after their core motivation is no longer in place, is just going to be rather weak - and I say that as an Ascian fan. My exhortation to them would be to find something new.

    ^This. Particularly time travel, I have little interest in it and SHB did very little to change my view on it. Travel to other worlds? If it's other stars, that could be a fertile avenue, but I'd rather they explored more of the current star before doing that. Shards? Not awfully interested.

    I'm still a bit sad that we never where able to see all Continents and Regions in Final Fantasy XIs Vana'diel. I hope at least in XIV we will someday have traveled to all Continents and Regions of Hydalyn.

    Aren't most people speculating that's what the floating island area is?

    I really don't care where we go or what we do as long as it has nothing to do with Allagans, Ascians, or Garleans.

    I think it was around the time when the mystery of Seal Rock that had intrigued me since 1.0 turned out to be a case of "Allagans did it", that I got really fed up with them being the source of everything.

    I remember Yoshi-P mention that we almost went to the Cieldades south of Limsa Lominsa instead of somewhere else. I wonder what that plot would've been like. It would be neat if we have an expansion where we go to the tropics for vacation and then something bad happens with a very localized villain.

    It would also be nice if 7.0+ isn't tied to previous story content and new players coming in can start at 7.0 and only miss out on dialogue options or cameos if they haven't finished the Hydaelyn/Zodiark arc. FFXI had something similar where you could at least start CoP, ToAU, and WotG (latter expansions) before finishing the original main storyline that continues in RotZ (the first expansion). Even then, RotZ areas were accessible to newer players even if they hadn't beaten the Shadowlord yet.
