Regarding Pandaemonium, it does seem like somewhere either of Hydaelyn or Zodiark, or the ancients, would imprison dangerous entities inhabiting the planet - the German is worded subtly more differently so as to suggest it is simply an isolated, dark part of the interior of the planet. To hold what? Dangerous aetheric creations? Beasts inhabiting the darker corners of the world, perhaps even pre-dating the ancients (like the Titans of Greek myth)? Potent Terminus beasts captured for further study? Beings such as Ultima? Four Fiends (being elemental based)? The emphasis with Lahabrea is on his sigil (rooted in FF12), so keen to see where they're taking it.

As for Anima, it doesn't shed an awful lot of light, but a being spawned from the sort of trapped summoners we've seen in the Telotowers is plausible.

When the game's story becomes self-aware:

I think you're caught up trying to reconcile terminology trying to justify an idea you have when that idea already has inconsistencies that don't support it.
Doesn't have much to do with where the thread has gone now, but I was looking through older interviews for something else and found this little nugget that others might be interested in. Turns out that there's nothing really different about elder primals and regular primals after all. Unless they have decided to retcon it.

Fusionx: What is the difference between a Primal and an Elder Primal? We have Odin and Bahamut, they’re kind of powerful, but then we have the Summoner quests and Belias is mentioned. What are the differences between all these guys?

Koji: Basically it’s all a matter of length of worship. With primals, it’s all about how you have someone worshiping you and you become that primal and they believe in you and you get your power from that. For the Ixal or the Amalj’aa, it’s the belief that makes the aether combine to summon forth these primals—so when you look at Ifrit, and Titan, and the one’s we’re calling primals, they’re considered very young. They’ve been believing in them for a long time, but looked at in a span of all the eras it’s not that much time. In the case of Odin, people were worshiping him long, long, long ago and then there was a phase when people stopped worshiping him and that’s why he vanished and went on his wandering… but now he’s back. And the reasons why he’s back…ehhh!

I'm all for expanding lore. The patches though I feel are going to be us cleaning up/helping out others after the fallout. We probably won't even get a single hint of where we are going to go until 6.4 at the earliest.

Hope they do move away from primals, however the Ascian influence probably won't end after Endwalker.

I can't find the source (I think it's the Andyr dungeon), but I am of the understanding that Lahabrea was exceptionally gifted at creating creatures for study purposes, many of which could not be controlled.

The art and overall vibes leads me to believe that Pandaemonium is his "vault of failed creations".

As for post 6.x, I still expect the Sound to be of relevance, but beyond that?

I mean, we might have a means for space travel...so we could be looking into the Dragonstar/Omega homeworld..or if there is an external force acting on our world causing the sound...

But personally, I hope we stay on our world and keep expanding the map. I would like to see the Garlemald clouds removed, and I would like to see the far west. Some kind of psuedo Aztec/Great Plains; Bonus if they can work in a geothermal region a la Yellowstone.

OK, now that these things are actually gone as major threats/plot elements, does it change anyone's perspective about what types of stories and challenges come next? What you would want to see (besides the list of destinations hinted at)?

OK, so with the spoiler tags added...

One of things I though about well before launch was the type of storytelling that might happen after the typical plot movers were gone.

    There could be:

    1) a new major theme/mystery established that will be explored over time like 2.0 to 6.0
    2) smaller arcs tied to individual expansions without an overarching storyline that weaves them together

Either way, I hoped (and still hope) that 6.1-6.5 will kind of be an interlude that let's us do various small questlines before getting into something bigger. They could set up later plots without leading directly into any of them.

    For example:
    • questline to look into safer/easier travel between the reflections (Y'shtola and Graha could be quest giver types)
    • questline featuring news about the possibility of traveling to the new world continent(s) made possible by the fall of the Empire or maybe a visitor from their come to our side of the world because of the impact of the Final Days
    • questline going back to the moon (and beyond) to set up possible interstellar exploration
    • etc.

Thanks for helping make the FFXIV community a fun and welcoming place. If you're not sure you have (and you very likely have), make it a point to be patient or helpful the next time you log in so that you can know you've made a difference.

If you're on the Aether data center, congratulations! I might be your next exciting adventure healer in the Duty Finder. Please look forward to it.

I've been pretty outspoken about my interests re: a certain character. 5.3 introduced G'raha's soul vessels. 6.0 introduced both a convenient and reliable means of entering the aetherial sea (Aitascope) and a race capable of wielding creations magicks (Loporrits). There's no missing elements left. Just give me a quest in 6.1 where we bring Minfilia back to life and that's all I'd ever even wish to ask for.

But other than that, I'm very interested in seeing Meracydia, the New World, and being able to return to Dalmasca/Rabanastre outside of a raid setting.

Post 6.0 I honestly don’t expect this, it I would like to see:

    1) Additional entire zones introduced mid expansion pack (a la Guildwars 2). An entire additional zone or two about every 1/2 or 1/3 of the way into the pack would do a lot to keep things interesting. More so if they use it to fill in the existing map. Other regions of Garlemald, Othard etc. places interesting but maybe not so interesting to merit an entire expansion.

    2) With the world more or less safe in the alliance’s hands, I would like to see the WoL just go adventuring for adventuring sake. Something like the old school Hercules tv show- just seeing the world for fun, fixing problems as we go.

    3) I would like to see more into the history of various cultures. I have a pet theory that each civilization was manipulated/created to match the image of some particular Ascian, who then pitted them against each other to create calamities. (I strongly think Lahabrea to be behind the Mhachi for example). I’d be happy to be wrong, but I’d like to just see more. Especially Ronka.

I don't think the Alliance has the manpower to keep the whole of Aldenard safe and I feel like we're going to end up visiting Corvos sometimes within the patch cycle with how much it was name-dropped and also cited as one of the regions that was badly stricken by the Final Days but did not receive much support.

Ilsabard was still largely dominated by the Garleans and it's anyone's guess as to how they reacted to both to the fall of the empire and the Final Days as the bulk of the legions are still unaccounted for.

Yoshi-p said anything Zodiark versus Hydaelyn related is ending in 6.0 so it was expect.

However, they did setup a lot of things as well such as all the stuff Emet mentioned and continuation of the story involve Dynamis since 6.0 was basically the introduction of Dynamis.

    Emet mentioned these things being...

    1) Ruins in the Bounty.

    2) Treasure Islands beyond the frozen waters of Blindfrost inPthard's north

    3) Golden City of the New World.

4)Sacred sites of the Forgotten people in South Sea Isles.

    5) Mercydia and the current state of affairs.

and these were just the tip of what to expect for the future storyline as Emet mentioned as our journey has been greatly bound mostly to Eorzea and there is much more beyond. Thus location wise we have our targets for next expansion. We already are going to explore the true identity of the twelve in 6.0 raid so that is already marked down.

Story wise, in my opinion may focus on the Warrior of Despair plot if they go down this path due to what was mentioned in 6.0 involving the fate of other worlds and dynamis.

For those who ask, I mentioned before in my past posts in other posts that the Warrior of Despair is a young concept introduced by SE in Final Fantasy Mobius which is sadly now shutdown.

SE has yet to explore much of the Warrior of Despair concept since Final Fantasy Mobius is the first FF game to use it but considering what 6.0 lore bombed us with so many things involving Despair and Hope, I keep getting this feeling that the Warrior of Despair maybe a major factor in Season 2 storyline.

    ------------------------

Azem's soul crystal is also something I think they may expand on more beyond just been a plot convenient device to summon other fragments of Azem to fight the Final Boss. We still know very little about who Azem was and SE has open a path that will allow them to turn Azem Soul Crystal into a Job Soul Crystal whenever they want in Season 2 that is based on using Azem's powers whatever they decide it to be. However, this will cause them to make this job probably the first and only Main Story locked Job since players may have to reach the point in Shadowbringer when they obtain Azem Soul Crystal to start the Job Quest to obtain this Azem Job.
