Every MMO will have players that have done content enough that they are forced to repeat for whatever reason that they just wanna blaze through to get back to what they want to do. Dungeons are the obvious one, but it counts for all aspects of a game that has many players at different points in the game.

You play an MMO with strangers, you better be ready to go fast. That's just...part of it.

To be honest of all the mmos ive played, Ffxiv is certainly the slowest with dungeon runs, even with wall to wall pulls. Many other mmos can blaze thru trash, out right skipping them with line of sight or just running through ignoring them for boss, while I hated that, the dungeons in Ffxiv get very very bland after the 1st couple of runs. Wouldnt mind seeing them change the trash>boss x3 deal and mix things up or step up the difficulty of dungeons overall.

This mentality cannot be done in content that is more thought provoking, I find it absurd that some players want to go slower but what the content to stagnate and remain the same difficulty wise. Literally pleasing no one

I'm all for letting people watch cutscenes and waiting for that in dungeons but being new to a dungeon is no excuse to do single pulls. Trash mobs are the same in every dungeon and all you need to do is push your aoe buttons and occasionally push one of your mitigations. Get this tank = leader mentallity out of your head asap, leadership comes through competence, not titles. If someone else pulls for you and drags the mobs into you be glad you had to do even less and if they dont do that, tell them to start doing that. Taking over aggro as tank is an absolute joke and people dont just die to 1 or 2 auto attacks either.

It's boring for the healers, who don't have to heal hardly at all. Once you've gone fast it's hard to go back.

If you want to appreciate the area on your own it's easy to do that at a higher level using the Undersized Party option. If you do enough roulettes some parties will go slow sometimes.
Except that it's not how a mmo is supposed to work...

Here, when a tank (who has the lead responsability by default) choose to play with a random group, he/she is supposed to ask his/her partners which pace they prefer.
And if only one person says "slow", then it should be slow. (At least at the start. One can ask a little while later if accelerating is ok)

Yes, it's like this. And no, it's not "the majority wins"

    It's called manners.

A person who already know the dungeon and has the required skill to go fast is ALSO able to go slow, whereas a person who is able to go slow is not necessary able to go fast.
And no : slow players don't do it to provoke you. Even if the game is easy, they often are just not as accustomed to their controller as others.

When a player choose to play with a random group because he/she don't want to spend time to recrut himself/herself, he/she is supposed to apply this logic.

If you're not in the mood for it : go create a specific group to go fast from the start (or stop farming and play someting else that actually excite you) !

(And yes : everyone should have a keyboard to speak with others in-game. It' called manners too !)

Or alternatively, you could go create a specific group to go slow from the start. That kind of logic works both ways you know.

The sooner people realize it's the group that determines the pace of a dungeon, and not just one person arbitrarily declaring they're more important than the rest, the better.

If there's a way to speed up any process in an MMO, people will do it. It is prevalent everywhere that allows it which is most MMOs nowadays.

While I cannot give a specific date on when personal housing will be implemented, I can say that prices will be completely separate from free company housing, and, naturally, far more affordable.

I don't understand the problem. Could someone explain what I'm missing here?

Does your character run slower than other characters or get out of breath? Just press W, struggles resolved. The healer and dps can't pull if the tank is pressing W. Click loot boxes with your mouse while you press W with your other hand. And why wouldn't you use Sprint on cooldown? People use Sprint on cooldown to move around in cities too.

You can watch the scenery, listen to the music and try on clothing while you move. Why do you want to not move? This is not a new player thing because I've seen a newbie streamer chain pulling in their third dungeon. I've seen players chain pull in dungeons on the patch day they were released. Those players don't hate the dungeon, they just press W.

Maybe it's a Data Center thing but, here on the Crystal DC, dungeon runs have been fairly 'chill'. No one's pulling for the tank, no one's pulling bosses while someone's watching a cutscene and I've yet to see anyone 'fall behind' either. I also take the time to check loot real quick if it could potentially be an upgrade, blindly nudging forward while I pass/need/greed.

Groups still try to go through the dungeon in a timely manner, nobody takes the time to smell the flowers in-between every pull because no one, even newer players like myself, wants to spend 45 mins in a dungeon that normally takes 15-20 to clear. Still, compared to WoW, this is a welcome breath of fresh air. I no longer feel anxious going into dungeons, not even brand new ones.

I have seen this behavior also in ESO and SWTOR. Because the game mechanics allow it. If you give the players the choice whether they can achieve something in an efficient way or in a way that makes fun they will almost always prefer the efficient, less funny way. It is a very important task for the game designers that the efficient way also makes fun. If not, the players will hate it. And this is an area where the Blizzard devs failed badly. And when i see content like Bozja/Zandnor then the SQEX devs did not learn from Blizzard's mistakes.

    Cheers
